Your videos were some of the first playthroughs I ever watched, and are part of the reason I became a KZbinr myself. Never would I have imagined that I'd one day get a shoutout. About, Mage Knight, no less!

I love this discussion at the end. For my group "that game" is Sentinels of the Multiverse. It's always the one we go back to when we can't agree what else to play (sometimes too often). We love the fiddlyness and number counting, and all the crazy rules interactions, as well has how crazy things can get when players support each other. We have easily played it hundreds of times and we still find new situations that come up sometimes.

I’m glad we all came back to MK in this quarantine. Love these final reflexions. Like this feeling of being faithful to this wonderful old board game. Well done!!

Thank you very much for this series and all of the other videos you have done Ricky! Your videos helped me choose to invest in this game as my first solo board game, and I'm so glad I picked up this one. As much as I get lost in my own games, it's always a terrific experience sitting back and watching you (and watching nervously at times, thinking you day 1 imps, and night 3 white tile...) give Mage Knight a go again. Just wanted to give a shout out for inspiring me to pick up this hobby.

Thanks for the videos. I really enjoyed them. I’m on my third game (second of solo conquest) and I love the depth of the puzzle presented. I don’t find the game to be as difficult as I thought it would be, but that being said it’s not an easy game. There’s a lot of depth here that can only be appreciated with multiple playthrough. I’m excited for the journey. It’s funny that as I gravitate towards games like this, I’ve been steadily selling off games I never play to have a smaller collection. I’d rather play 20 games a lot than 50-100 games once a year or so.

Fantastic series Ricky! Your original Mage Knight vids also inspired me to get an Ultimate Edition, and boy was it worth it. But its still nice to sit back and relax someone do a Solo game especially a player who is a s experienced as you are. Cheers!

Great last video to close out the series. I very much appreciate your comments about finding games that are worth investing in and playing again and again. That is the standard I strive for in what comes into my small collection. My wife and I bought UE a few months ago and just finished our 7th playthrough. Still haven’t touched any expansion content and your videos are what sold me on the game and were invaluable in helping us learn it. Thanks for continuing to film the classics. Also, the same could be said for your War of the Ring videos which we greatly enjoy and a game we play frequently.

From playing Cosmic Encounter and D&D in the 80's, Mage Knight reignited my interested in tabletop gaming. I can't thank you enough for your original Mage Knight instructional series that helped me understand the rules. One thing I will say is it is daunting at first, but once you learn them, they become second nature....except for PvP maybe, still haven't got that covered but I don't have to worry about it when riding Solo!

It has been a great joy watching you play! That playthrough was awesome! Seeing you start the game and get a rough start but still pushing through and managed to get a win was great fun. I was watched multiple playthroughs now. 3-4 from Colin of one stop coop shop, first reconnaissance from Liz, two from solo playthroughs and then yours. I also watched the rules videos from Liz. I finally decided to jump in and get the game in a trade for a used copy! I’m eager to play! Will you bring another playthrough in 2022?:)

Great series. Mage Knight is often not about 'if' you can do something, but 'how'. I find that in multiplayer games there is often a lot of downtime when players are figuring out how to combine all of their cards to do something, especially later on when players have more cards and are dealing with bigger monsters. Maybe it works best as a 2 or 3 player coop game where players just play with all of their cards faceup and see if they can figure it out together.

Other games I wouldn't mind seeing you revisit Robinson Crusoe... specifically a scenario from the Mystery tales Expansion if you've got it. Too Many Bones... with 2+ gearlocs... perhaps when Splice & Dice hits your door step. Darkest Night... if you've got the 2nd edition (it's a beauty) Cloudspire... And maybe one of the Lovecraft games Eldritch Horror/Arkham Horror. Your original Arkham playthrough is one of my favorites.

Dammit, now I'm going to have to get Mage Knight to the table again. Love your story-based approach to this game, it's how I play it as well. But I realized I've been playing it wrong all these years by not adding tokens to conquered cities for every unit giving +rep.

That last shot of yours, I think that the characters became much more distinguishable once they released a 2nd unique basic action card for each character. Part of me wants to try a game using all unique basic cards in a deck and just see how much terror I can bring!

I always feel like Mage Knight and Xia are similar-feeling games. They’re quite different but both are great at telling fun stories. Mage Knight has allows randomness mitigation through abilities and cards. Xia is dice heavy but allows the player to travel the star system quickly to make beneficial choices for fame points. Both excellent and deserve to be in gamer collections!
