Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZbin channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

There are so many break 80’s series out and advice on how to break 80 on the magazines, that I think the title is serving its purpose as is. The Bryan Bros, George by the way had a course vlog by the title break 60 and lost one ball, but still made 66.

You inspired me to pick up golfing and I've been slowly learning this brutal game this past year on short holes with my grandfather who played most of his life. And I want to thank you for being the catalyst that started this with your amazing, and grounded videos, which in turn made me want to do this, and get these incredible moments I otherwise wouldn't have had with him while golfing.

Thank you so much, Rick, for this great video. I visited Silloth on Solveig Golf Club just 2 months ago, the first golf course I played twice on my first golf trip to the UK. I enjoyed every of these 36 holes on a perfectly maintained course so much, especially the incredible, "Postage Stamp"-like Par 3 ninth hole and the really tricky Par 5s thirteenth and fourteenth. Highly recommended course, at a reasonable green fee rate. Thank you for giving me this kind-of vacation movie and a great thank you to the highly welcoming and friendly crew at Silloth on Solveig Golf Club. I will come back some day.

Love the positivity that you are expressing during this round of golf. The low shots you were trying are effective on windy days but you need to believe in the shots. Going into the wind with more club is great with the low shots but make sure you're still staying committed and don't decelerate. This is why you kept on coming up short on the shots. Otherwise, you are playing better and your attitude will get you to where you can hit them scoring shots more often. Now I just wish that I could play this course. Absolutely a beautiful course for December and playing it in the summer would be a dream if it's not 100+ outside. See you next time Rick.

Rick is like the one friend you play with that when he’s playing bad no one else can have fun. You’re doing your best to ALWAYS bring them up during the round and they continue to make bad decisions. I really don't know how you can post this. I'm not a Rick fanboi but I appreciate he shows the bad with the good. Not only does he video his golf games, he has to make them entertaining and relatable as well or no-one will watch them. As for throwing his club against his bag, I don't think there's a golfer alive who hasn't felt like that at one time or another. The only difference is, he has a couple of million people watch him do it.

Always nice to see a golf course you have played yourself and you have a special memory of. I was privileged to have seen one of the best rounds of golf ever whilst playing with PGA professional Simon Edwards in a Northern PGA Pro-Am event a number of years ago. Rick, love the content as always. Have you considered trying a break 75 with more forgiving irons? Something like a P770 or T100? If nothing else, it would be a great video to see you play a full round with clubs like that and see how it impacts your ability to make shots, recover from bad lies, and some of the less than ideal strikes. Always have loved your club review videos, but thought it would be great to see you play a full round with those clubs.

This is a great series. Setting a goal for breaking 75 comes down to skill set, course management and course conditions. Obviously, you have the proper skill set as one who follows your channel can see. This is a beautiful, links style course. But the day of play was brutal as is often the case in winter golf. You did well on the front nine, but it looked like you were pressing a bit on the back nine. A day of better conditions may yield the goal you set for yourself. Thanks for your videos, both entertaining and informative for those of us who are recreational golfers.

Played Silloth earlier in the year and can honestly say it’s my favourite golf club ever. Managed to get on with my BIGGA card and always a little bit nervy about it because some golf clubs are real snotty about letting you on for free but this place was so relaxed. Tom was in the shop when I arrived and he was sound as! Didn’t help that I played it just after a 4 hour drive as I had the shanks for the front 9 and it took me 9 holes to make a par (I play off 2 😂😂) but the place is absolutely amazing.. the greenkeepers do a fabulous job!

Thank you for this. Hard conditions in cold and wind. You seem to have gone back to old swing bit quick. Last week your best shots were when you kept rhythm nice and smooth

Played this in late May, on a lovely, windless sunny day. As a 22 handicapper, I shot 93 so was very pleased. If it had been like those conditions, I am sure I'd have been 30+ Load of blind approaches, so was thankful for a buggy so I could pootle up and have a looksee.

Stayed positive for a good portion of the round. That was good and shout out to Guy... what a partner to make his job to pump you up, that was awesome of him. For the first time playing a course with all that wind I think ya did great. Getting there. As always good work.
