I saved my daughters life she was on my shoulders I walk to across some black ice some bus stop circle ice and I slipped and she would’ve hit her head on the ground because she was on my shoulders probably five years old four years old. I kicked my leg out to the side as we were both in the air falling backwards and it Warbled the movement the slip and I came down on my feet like nothing ever happened and just kept walking to dinner. I love this move I used to copy it and play with it and think about it and somehow I created my own move out of it and save my daughter😂🧘🙏🐰🌲

Rearmount isn't even a thing in Judo ... In all his fights Rickson used Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a mixture of Judo and Catch Wrestling that has a positional grappling totally different from these 2 arts that were mixed. BJJ is a grappling art that promotes position over submission and *strikes* and seeks to establish and dominate with certain positions in order to put the BJJ fighter into the best position to submit or *strike* an opponent. Rickson didn't used Judo in his fights, again rearmount isn't even a thing in Judo.

When Rickson walked near us they changed their stance and we’re happy to see him and said hey Rickson how are you doing buddy! Rickson like he had mental telepathy said hey I got to talk to these guys over here but nice seeing you and turned and walked away in another direction. left them there with her foot in her mouth the Jaguar eyes miss nothing

I think if you’re using judo techniques for fight/self defense(not randori) that technique becomes a jujutsu thow. Because in the ‘do’ you want to be better as before, but in ‘jutsu’ you want to win the fight/ destroy your enemy. What do you think about it?
@Chadi4 жыл бұрын
Jutsu is 'art' and 'Do' is way of life, when Kano sensei introduced education and morality to Jujutsu it stopped being a practice and became a way of life when you apply the morality and education outside of the mat, so winning a fight for preserving your life on the street wouldn't change it would still be judo in my opinion.
@alafifi1014 жыл бұрын
Remember that Judo is actually Jiu Jitus. That is why in the beginning Judo was called "Kano Jiu Jitsu". So basically Judo is a Jiu Jitsu style. It is just that the change of the name bring some philosophical aspects to the art. And remember that Judo is actually way much more effective than Japanese Jiu Jitsu especially back in the days when Judo crushed Jiu Jitsu. And BJJ is just Judo Newaza! lol
@vittocrazi4 жыл бұрын
@@alafifi101 i have to disagree about judo being a jiujitsu style. Kano changed the game in more than just strategy (wich would mean same family, different style). When you change the training regime, the core strategies, the competition structure, the technique set AND formal aspects (along with ideology and vision), can you still call them the same? Aikido would also be "just a form of jiujitsu". Karate adopted the uniform and rank system from judo, but its not considered a derived from judo. BJJ would again take some aspects of original judo and replace others. Change of strategy, priorities, values, formality. But took the core training system and technique set. And this differences are the reason one is a big brand in USA and the other is not. One has a big reputation in UFC and the other is more widespread in (specially eastern) Europe.

Witcher I read Kano’s book last year and found out, to my surprise, that it was actually never called Kano Jiujitsu at first. Other sources seem to say That that name was given to it later when it began to spread across the world and people had no clue what judo was but knew jiujitsu

Just watch his instructional videos from around 1990, and you will see it is just pathetic sub-par Judo. And if that is not enough, just watch him in his only appearance in UFC. @@kalikaputra This is not as simple as it seems. High-level judo competition is a very organized and structured sport and a very demanding endeavor for the athletes. They are usually fully dedicated to Judo training and competition. In fact, as far as I know, at the highest levels the athletes are not allowed to compete in other disciplines. On the other hand, many high-level grapplers, specially BJJ guys, include Judo as part of their training, and this has been true for a long time. Notable people from the Gracie schools (Humaita and Carlson, family or not) have trained their fair share of Judo, be it with Georges Mehdi, the Flamengo team or in other forms. John Danaher includes some Judo in his program. Roger Gracie trains it. The list goes on and on. In addition to that, some judoka have transitioned to BJJ and/or MMA with great success. Some well known names include Fedor Emelianenko, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ronda Rousey, Kayla Harrison, Travis Stevens. Again, the list goes on and on. So, asking "if (...) Kano judo [is] so good these days then why you don't see more judo guys when in BJJ comps? Or MMA?" feels analog to asking "if the Thai fighters are so good at striking, why don't we see more of them in MMA?". There are many reasons for both, but effectiveness doesn't seem to be one of them.
