Fantastic father and son time. I feel for his loss. My son is 12 now and we hardly ever have time to roll or spar anymore. This short video has inspired me to get back to what we have in common and build on it as a father and son time. Thank you for posting.

Rockson's Untimely passing was the reason Rickson retired from Fighting in General. RIP Rockson.

This is a small example of the real jiu-jitsu as Helio Gracie established it. A complete self defense system for real life situations, not a grappling or cage sport.

Had Rockson lived, we would've seen an epic battle between Kazushi Sakuraba and Rickson Gracie. Rickson would be trying to bring back honor to the Gracie name. Rockson today would've been a beast. Imagine him competing at the Metamoris taking on the world's best. Sad.

Ive been married 11 years... Wife cant have kids... I wish I had a mini me, to teach this too... If I ever get my life straight, ill just adopt someone who needs a home... I would be so proud if I could teach my kid the things I know. I would be even prouder if they turn out to be a better person than me... Oh well.. Maby someday...

Pretty much all kids eventually eventually break your heart to a degree. I had a vasectomy but still had a son in a new marriage pretty much just for my wife who wouldn't have children. I didnt think it possible but after operations and in vitro (done in Mexico, I had even less confidence it would work) we had our hyper little boy and I have no regrets.. I would have a adapted a child in n iraq, I think a few soldiers would have, but Iraq fed les no te allow internarional adoptions. Good luck, hope you get it.

4 minutes...almost all you need to defend yourself. Nothing beats old school jj if mastered. And there 's not and there'll not be a better Master of Jj than Rickson Gracie. A true Samurai

@Fadur1 I've heard some things about what happend to Rockson, you can google it, I'm sure there are some stories on the net. Kron competes at the highest level in BJJ but he is not undefeated. He hasn't fought in MMA yet either.

Yes! That's the way to think. Or, just teach and that way, you will eventually pass it on to the benefit of someone that needs it. As a father and step father, I can tell you that the genetic component of parenting matters very little. If you're a good person, you love the children you raise and teach equally, no matter whose genes they have.

@Fadur1 Rockson was Rickson's oldest son who passed years ago. Rickson's other son Kron is rippin it up on the competition scene.

@InnocentyInsane The legendary Rolls Gracie died in a hang gliding accident. There are a few stories as to what happened to Rockson. The Gracie family has always claimed that Rockson died in a motorcycle accident. However most people outside the family claim his death was more sinister. Some say he overdosed. Others that he was killed by dealers or gangsters over a drug deal gone wrong. What's the truth? Who knows? All I'll say is if you got kids tell them you love them, cause you never know.

Can anyone imagine how Rickson and his brothers trained and trained in the same thing over and over again, even beyond exhaustion. Where did they have any mentality not to get tired of repetitive monotony? Just like I suspect there is a real karate, where balance is maintained the same as jiu jitsu, never over reaching where another trained karate ka would use it to their benefit by throw or sweep. There has to be Gracie's equivalent of jiu jitsu. Like there's techniques where someone comes in for take downs, the head is taken advantage of. But the skills the Gracie's have would require so much experience.

@bryanpratt58506 жыл бұрын
InnocentyInsane that was Rolls Gracie that died hang gliding. He was better than Rorion. I know your question was seven years ago. Did you get to have kids? A lot can change in seven years...

@ucancountontmoney im sorry for his loss but he most likely wouldnt have fought anyway,he was over 40 at that stage and would have struggled greatly with the more evolved fighters after 2000 due to his very 1 dimensional style.

Bullshit story, altough 8 years ago this was not what was happened...after there was no contact for a month with Rockson his father Rickson contacted Renzo to take a look..when Renzo tracked down the gilfriend she said she was no longer with Rockson..so worried Renzo started looking for Rockson everywhere and ended at the policestation identifying the photo of Rockson...he died earlier of an overdose and was found later by the police...sad story
