Came here from Mohr's interview after the fact. Wow, this what he was talking about? Wtf. They were all there, present, laughing at each other. Jimmy broke Ricky up several times. What the hell was Mohr talking about? His take was funny, though, that nut. His Louis/Ricky impression is classic, but this actual interview is nothing like what he said.

a kilogram is 2.205 pounds..it is based on multiples and factors of 10 (the number of single digit number)..i might not like it if we had a numeric system based on something else..but generally that isn't the case..the meter is based on the speed of light which is exactly 299,792,458 meters per second..also..the gram/kilogram is based on the average density of water: 1 cubic cm of water weighs exactly 1 gram on earth..at the temperature in which it melts 4 deg celsius and one kg of water=a liter

@FogNut212 жыл бұрын
It's more precise than the metric system. The amount of pounds used to make up a stone is daft but it's more accurate because a stone is made up of 14 pounds which is a smaller amount than a kilogram but still heavy enough for us to all know roughly how much 1 pound is. When people use stone they will use pounds as well, they don't just round up or down to the nearest stone just as people don't round up to the nearest kilogram when baking, for example.

i'm not saying there aren't great american stand ups, but comedy is generally thought of to be one thing, the truth. and comedians like Hicks and Carlin managed to find a way to tell the truth on stage and and make it palatable to the layman, comedy is thought provoking, look a comedians like Lenny Bruce for instance, he was great because he was thought provoking, its ok to go to a show and just have a few laughs, bu when a comedian makes you think really hard, that makes it all the better.

Maybe the definition of comedy has changed, but "out right offensiveness" is usually the norm in this day and age. I myself find it funny that you're crying over them picking on brits, while there are comics who tackle things far more controversial. You don't like it, that's fine. It's comedy. Its subjective. You're anger toward them doesn't even accomplish anything at the end of the day.

actually the British excel in stand up comedy, the sitcoms are ok and then you have some good ones, but stand up in Britain is fantastic, its thinking peoples comedy, you get some who aren't very intelligent. but the majority are fantastic, lots of British stand ups made it big in america, Connolly, Gervais, Cleese, Atkinson and brand, whether you like it or not is subjective, but British stand up is seen to be high quality stand up around the world.

not as high as British stand up, there are some exceptions, Carlin, Hicks, CK are the main examples, are american comedians successful? yeah, but their ideas generally aren't thought provoking or in any way challenging, British Comedy on the other hand is extremely "risque" and the jokes tend to be more thought provoking.

He's popular in the UK because his sense of humour is very british, very satire. It all tunes in with british culture. Ricky isn't just a stand up comedian, he's a director, actor, writer and producer. If you don't like his stand up, fair enough. Don't buy it. Also its the original office, not an "english version" the US version is based of the british office.
