I don't particularly like Ricky Gervais but this was such a great example of why I despise every single phony prick who tries to ban and censor certain types of comedy, and all those who pretend to be offended on other peoples behalfs. The only thing banning certain groups from being joked about and not allowing them to be the material for comedy does is separate those people even further and turns it into "them and us". To achieve true equality and end segregation you have to completely abolish all boundaries and allow every person to be included in micky taking as well as praising. If a joke is done well(or the intention is coming from a good place) then there should be no such thing as "this is not allowed". Every person in that room understood the context and found it funny, no more so than the guy in the wheelchair. I hate how society often overlooks intent and context and focuses only on content.
