Fourth taunt in the first round and the post-KO taunt. Just walking up to Justin. Playing "chicken" with him by just sitting there. Making fun of Justin's play style with the cr. medium kicks to build meter. Letting the clock run out. Throwing his hands up in the air after the win and then blowing off Justin Wong's hand shake after the match. I'm sure there's other little thing I didn't pick up on, but you get the gist.

Its funny how all the new fgc people always bring up daigo. I know that chun super parry was cool but in 3s daigo was never that good compared to othe Japanese players like uni, yamazaki, kuroda, hayao, KO, ect.... I even wanna say that haitani played a better ken then daigo did. He is still a lot better then most us players though. Really Justin and ricky had no chance against these guys.

I know this is a very old comment, but I think its worth saying that most people who know what they're talking about don't think Daigo was the best 3rd Strike player at any point. He was definitely a top player though, capable of beating everyone you listed and Nuki, who I think was probably in that "etc." New FGC people bring up Daigo because he is unquestionably the greatest Street Fighter player of all time, he was the best at 2, he was a top contender for 3, he was the best at 4 for the first few years and top 10 for the rest of it. No one really has a resume to stand up to that.

@Leon Jones didn't you say, "Ryan Hart...... Nuff said?" Where are the facts to back up your argument? Hart does have the wr most tournament wins, but daigo has better placements at international street fighter tournaments. Hart has 1 top 8 finish at a capcom cup or an evo for street fighter (7th in 3S). He doesn't have an SBO win either and honestly he should since I'm pretty sure he's better than daigo at 3S who does have an SBO tournament win. If you look back through street fighter's tournament history can you find any extended period of time where Hart deserved to be ranked first in the world? Was there ever a time when he went to the biggest tournaments and won or placed top 2/3 at several times in a row?

I do think Kuroda was trying to tick him off, but also I think there was a bit of tactical planning on Kuroda's part. Kuroda guessed (and guessed correctly in that match) that he won't be able to get safe opportunities to get three taunts in before Justin gets a guage up. So he decided to taunt, therefore getting the full defense bonus, before he has any real damage potential, while sacrificing some life. You do see that Chun-Li's SA does very little damage.

Yeah. It's worth pointing out that Q's defense only increases with the first three taunts which, in a display of sheer cheekiness, he rushed out in the face of Wong's "assault". The fourth, immediately after he knocks Wong down, was pure headgames.
@SpoonOfHawaii14 жыл бұрын
@SabishiiRyuu Why would Kuroda get pissed off that Ricky taunted Hayao? They both know that Hayao could OCV them himself if he wanted to. This supposedly started back in 2004 when Justin Wong beat Japanese player Raoh by time out and then acted cocky about it to him. Following that was Daigo's comeback parry victory.

Tier whoring is the exact reason Wong and U.S players in general get raped everytime we are invited to an SBO. Close minded strategies that rely on overpowered characters.
