I have been listening to Ricky Scaggs singing for over 40years and ABSOLUTELY love his unique style voice that no one shall ever be able to compete against him not in our era anyhow. I am now 73 years past .l just LOVE Ricky Scaggs singing to me ,over here in SCOTLAND, although I am lrish myself and proud to be IRISH. Ricky's ALWAYS been my favourite American Country idol, along with Vince Gill. 2 Heartthrobs, which l wish l could have met ,but to old now and disabled with heart problems , never stops me listening to Ricky, especially his love ones .l have been happily married now for 51 years and 54 years going together with my beloved husband who now is 80 and suffering from Alzheimer's syndrome, absolutey heartbreaking. But l still find listening to Ricky's LOVE songs that Ricky is actually singing them, just for me.Sorry folks .Kindest REGARDS ELIZABETH in❤❤❤❤ SCOTLAND ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I love this song. I ve heard it the first time in 1983-84.It reminds me of my youth when I ve listened this sung under the lighthouse built on a reef at the night with my two brothers. So I m happy to hear this song. Beautiful Ricky's voice. I hope one day I'll see my two brothers and together we 'll sing again country song. Thanks very much for this song.

Great tune, and one which made me a country fan in the mid 1980s, especially of the neo-traditionalists like Mr. Skaggs and the Whites, Randy Travis, and George Strait. Lost my cassette of this one during a trans-Atlantic move ten years ago. Thanks for the post. Used to sing harmony on this one with the girl I should have married. [She ended up [likely much more happily] married to a preacher in Oklahoma, but I still think of her fondly.

Chet Atkins has previously said that "Ricky Skaggs saved country music". well, folks you be the judge. Amazing talent. Only Vince Gill can touch him as singer and musician. Remember that many country artists today only sing. mos60

IMO Chet was referring to Ricky as not only a great singer but multi-instrument player. Mandolin, guitar, fiddle. Plus he sang country, gospel and bluegrass. Not many stars can do all this. mos60

Anyone remember when a pilled up OTR truck driver fired a shot into auto Rick's son was riding in? Fortunately Rick's son recovered. No matter who you are fate has a way of changing your life. I think it changed Rick's life and he embraced Christianity. Rick now has his own recording facility. Long ways from Blaine, Ky and Warren County!!! 12 miles from Sandy Hook. Home of Keith Whitley. Whatta loss.

I don't blame you for I know you want him, That your love for me was never real. I could hold you but you'd be unhappy, But it's all right if that's the way you feel. I know that I will always go on caring, And my feelings now I must conceal. I still need you and I want you with me, But it's all right if that's the way you feel. *********************** I always knew someday I would lose you, When those lies about me were revealed. It's plain to see, sweetheart, you believe them, But it's all right if that's the way you feel. I know that I will always go on caring, And my feelings now I must conceal. I still need you and I want you with me, But it's all right if that's the way you feel. But it's all right if that's the way you feel.....

I've always respected Ricks voice and instrumentality. Even felt the angst he felt when that pilled up OTR truck fired at his son and almost killed him which was a game changer for Rick. As they say he got the Lord. But I also believe religion and entertaining are different things. Dont preach gospel to your audience. Someone must've told Rick this. I leave religion at church. Nuff said. I'm a Christian too. But I never preach to people.
