I saw Ricky sing this on an awards show in the days before youtube. I bought his vinyl album just to get his version of this song. I had every one of Roy Orbison's on reel to reel tapes I was that much of a fan, but Ricky's version of this song definitely right up there with Roy.

To even dare to sing this song is something that Elvis never did .. he never recorded one of Roy's songs, he said ... and, he said he would never FOLLOW Roy Orbison on stage .... Roy would have LOVED it if he had ... and, he would have LOVED that Ricky VAN SHELTON worked this song just as hard as he, himself, had .... GREAT, GREAT .. fantastic job ...
