DIY sashes are perfect for special events, but most embroiderers wonder how to embroider sashes due to their shape. Machine embroidery requires that you hoop all sides of the garment within the hoop, therefore when embroidering sashes, you can't hoop them traditionally. Instead, when embroidering sashes, you will need to use a technique referred to by machine embroiderers as floating. In machine embroidery, floating essentially means you hoop the stabilizer alone and pin the item to the stabilizer to secure it into place. However, floating unusually shaped items can cause them to shift while the machine is embroidering, which can throw your design off-center. However, with Laura's tips and tricks, you can perfectly center and float your design on your sash without any issues.
In this tutorial, you'll learn...
How to make DIY sashes for prom, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, pageants, graduation, sororities and more.
