Man, can you imagine? A train that would come and just let you rest, alone, in absolute safety. The conductors would speak in gentle calm whispers, and otherwise leave you alone. You can stay on the train as long as you like and just hunker down in your comfortable bed for a while and rest. No judgement, no masking. Just the rhythmic clicking of the train wheels and gentle rain. Pure heaven. Better than any vacation.

Perfection. The first time I rode an overnight train, it was in an old Soviet-style train car in Russia. I was in a top bunk, facing a window, and I got some of the best sleep of my life. Gently rocked by the train.... it was incredible. This video really brings it back.

The only time I road an overnight train, food poisoning set in. I spent the night in a fever dream, and threw up several times. Interestingly, the toilets lead directly to the tracks below. Like you, I too will never forget my overnight midnight train ride.

Unfortunately, there are very few trains that run all night without stopping every few minutes and waking you up in the process. Even this passenger is actually just repeating the same 1-minute stretch of train tracks over and over again (probably the most peaceful stretch on the entire trip). But I have been on one all-night non-stop train from Budapest to Zurich. (It actually stopped once for passport checks.) Give that one a try some time!

The love of my life passed away. And it's a lonely nights sleep. I miss her so much. And I equally miss her cuddles. Now all I have is videos like this to where I can pretend we are cuddling again. Her head on my chest, listening to my heartbeat. Her left leg draped over mine. My left hand rubbing her arm and shoulder, caressing her hair until the sleepiness sets in, and my hand is motionless. I miss the warmth of our bodies, which was a reflection of the heat of the love we shared. It's all just a memory. But thank God for videos like this as I can pretend we are cuddling again. Being 45 I will probably never find a woman to share that again. As much as I long for it, I don't think it's a part of my future unfortunately. At least I have the videos like this one. This reminds of my visit from CA to KY to visit my grandma when I was a boy. I had the upper bunk on a sleeper car at night and could slide open a small window with screen. I could hear the train on the tracks, the rain, and the crossing signal bells.

Do not give up stranger. I know some days it takes all you have got to get out of bed but I am proud of you. I’m not trying to push my beliefs on you, but when I was struggling, god saved me. I don't even know how I fall into a deep sleep ?! But I did ..listing to this beautiful sound , when I woke up my phone was off because the battery died , because I felt as sleep n didn't had a chance to stop it . The train draws to a stop at the wind swept rain soaked station and you quickly get onboard. The storm starts to come in harder as you find your empty room, you realise there are no other passengers onboard as you sit and watch the daylight fade from your cabin window, and the train starts to slowly roll away from the station into the rain soaked night. Youre alone, safe, warm and rested, and each mile foward into the night is another mile further away from all of your problems, soon to be memories. The steady clickity clack and the storm rain beating on the cabin window, rock you into an ancient peaceful slumber...as the train and mother nature take care of your healing. x
