The guy with the Tahoe: What is so hard to understand? You buy a vehicle, you don’t drive it without plates. Forget the ‘I’ve got them right here’ crap. You chose to drive it BEFORE you put the plates on. Violation. Ticket. Now, don’t drive it UNTIL the plates are on. Very simple.

It’s time for Pierce County to stop coddling these freeloaders. Enforce the laws, impound their vehicles if necessary, and stop making law-abiding citizens feel like we’re the ones being punished. If the system can track down every penny of my $700 car tab, they can certainly go after these habitual offenders.

@Cruor34Күн бұрын
You could you know, just obey the law and signal and you won't be pulled over. He assumed someone who doesn't signal breaks other laws and oh look! He was correct! It's AMZING to me how many people break the law, like have drugs in the car then run a stop sign and get caught. Like if you don't want trouble from police, obey the dam law. You could LITERALLY drive around with 100 pounds of cocaine, a box of TNT, automatic weapons, and have a body in the trunk and NEVER get pulled over if you just drive properly.

I still do not understand: "You are under arrest for X. Ok, you are free to go have a nice day" I thought detained meant you can't go until we figure out what to do with you, and arrest meant handcuffs and a jail cell, at least for an hour until you bail out.

It's called "cite and release". It's used alot for low level nonviolent offenses.
@Cruor34Күн бұрын
@@donh6416 Ok thanks... so what is the purpose? If they already didn't take care of their warrant or whatever it was how will this make them do it? I'm trying to understand what it does.
@donh6416Күн бұрын
@Cruor34 It doesn't take care of the outstanding warrants. King Co didn't want to extradite even though it's right next door. Cite and release leaves room in the jail for more serious offenders. Deputies have discretion to take those to jail who are not forth coming or don't cooperate. Sometime Deputies will give someone a break so as to not pile on to an already financially challenged person. This guy lives in his car. Going to jail would mean his car is towed. He probably could not afford to get it out of storage. If he did get it out would he have any $$$ left? Deputies make decisions that have compassion towards the people they contact throughout each shift. While still taking the bad ones to jail.
@Cruor3423 сағат бұрын
@@donh6416 Yeah I'm not questioning why he didn't take him in, I am trying to understand "being under arrest" with no penalty. Like, it just goes on his record and looks bad, or what? What does it actually do to a person?

He sounds sad. Is it because he works in an Alt-liberal democratic state where the rule of law is frowned upon? Or is it because he just gives break after break after break. Cops like him act like they owe people a brake, not thinking about the fact that when u pull people over they have probably gotten away with the same thing 100s or thousands of times prior, so breaks ahould be the exception and not the norm. This guy needs to go spend some time with REAL traffic officers, like Rodie or Frank.
@Cruor34Күн бұрын
It's a case-by-case basis IMO. On one hand if you don't enforce any rules, you get San Francisco. On the other, if you ticket people for going 54 in a 45, people resent the police, it's a balancing act. Personally, I'd take people in with warrants, and I'd crush people who I caught on their phones while driving, I HATE distracted driving. They are the real danger. I'd also be hard on "disturbing the peace" people (loud exhaust or blasting music in a neighborhood) Speeding I'd give out a lot of breaks if they didn't have priors. Cops are human, and they have the choice to ticket or not, and all have their own biases. Someone who almost got hit by a car as a kid might be super hard on any sort of speeding yet ignore super loud exhausts because their uncle had one. The problem with people camped outside stores etc is the department doesn't allow the cop to arrest them, and they know if they say "move along" they will just come back in a few hours. At a certain point you just say F it. Frank IMO is not the best example. Even his boss says if it were up to him, he would let more people go. Also, personally I would much prefer to get Franks boss (guy in the cowboy hat) than Frank. Frank ALWAYS gives a snarky sarcastic comment because it's good for KZbin. It's funny to you, but not to the person there. Kind of like a goat head-butting a guy in the nuts. You are like LOL! He is like this sucks. I think you should be polite to police, but it works both ways. You don't need to give everyone the "oh you must be stupid you didn't see the giant black and white speed sign" speech, then get cranky when they get snippy in response.
@PierceCountySheriffsDepartment15 сағат бұрын
