For the record, the "fender screw mod" IS done to the car (and has been for some time now).

Any clearance issues with the Hypergrams in 17 with the performance pack brake calipers? Is there any need for a spacer?
@datadrivenmqb11 ай бұрын
@@erikw9847 no problems with the 17x9 (and no spacers needed). Can't say for any other widths though. kzbin.infoyLsl0KXl65E?si=gA7JB6BZoKfxkpdS

I'm taking notes right now :D so 73mm is suspension travel from standstill hight, to hitting bumper stop. Great info, I was looking for this, because I'm looking for new wheels and tyres combo as well. Thanks again, you are doing so much good work sir, for us Mk7 owners

@@KamilK3 all the notes from the video are jotted down here for reference: www.datadrivenmqb.com/suspension/rideheight Also thanks!

Hi Tony, any trimming done to the rear bump stops ?
@datadrivenmqb10 ай бұрын
I did not, but primarily out of laziness 😂 It might benefit from a slight trim but the scramble to reassemble before VIR I just didn't do it. The car drove great on track as far as the springs/shocks go. Will eventually revisit the rears to assess but it didnt have any problems on track or daily driving on these springs.

So is this something I need to take into account if I use a full coilovers! Now I don't have a GTI but a tsi!
@datadrivenmqb10 ай бұрын
Absolutely. (Most) coilovers are a bit different due to the adjustable body height. 99/100 people have them set up wrong. If you're using the top ring to set preload you're doing it wrong. This video covers how to up set coilovers properly: kzbin.info/www/bejne/paDGn4KInqqLnNksi=HSxb3047Rfg3cYMv If you can't do it that way then 99% likely your coilovers are garbage with poorly specd body lengths, springs, etc. Read: everything from China.

99% subjective drivel and not data driven. Throwing something at the car and see what sticks by determining it is "faster on a private track day"is the opposite of data driven tuning.
@datadrivenmqb11 ай бұрын
If you go to the website as mentioned, you’d see where the friction circle was plotted between the sway bar on soft vs stiff. Stiff bar resulted in more Gs in combination braking + cornering allowing faster corner entry. The determination of "faster" wasn't strictly based on lap times. www.datadrivenmqb.com/suspension/fsbdata This video is basically just getting a rough idea of wheel travel available because the camber curve and bump steer depend heavily on where you start in that range.
