It flew under my radar too and was obsessed with steep, I came across it whilst watching steep videos lol, got it now n love it , I'd like to see motor cross and maybe even aggressive inline skating 👍🏻

Love the fact that you reviewed this game as an average person. I agree completely with you that the best way to enjoy the game is to just mess around in the free roam. The racing is fine, it's not boring but it's not the most fun thing ever, but it doesn't have to be. The only reason you really do races is to unlock bikes and get money for costumes, which aren't that important. I've been playing for about 15 hours now and have some really good bikes and have put together an outfit I'm happy with with what is available to buy with the free currency. I do hate the fact that skateboards and BMXs aren't park of the main game. They're a $40 expansion which i feel is not really worth it if all you're planning to do is mess around with the free roam. You get to use the BMX for free and honestly, that's all you need. The only reason i see for using the skateboard is for glitching stars to unlock all the cool stuff fro the season. I do want to see more vehicles, particularly e bikes and dirt bikes, i just hope they aren't behind a paywall

At first I just wanted a fun extreme sports game to play when I got my Xbox... I didn't even notice when over 500 hundred hours of playtime happened. It's wild! Also, they just added longboards... And mountainboards are next! Wish granted.

You should check out Steep, it’s $5 right now. It’s the predecessor to RR and while it only has wingsuits and snow sports the maps are amazing, Mont Blonc and the surrounding Alps and Mount Denali in extreme detail. I wish RR had the verticality Steep has, it’s also not as arcade like as RR, if more realistic is what you like

😂😂😂😂 finally done. But do take my advice and buy a cheap pre owned copy if you do decided to buy it. I forgot to mention that the skateboard and BMX DLCs cost money. So yeah, Ubisoft wants money. But I have plenty of fun without spending any money on the game. I just love to free roam

I had play this game a lot when it released but i don't play it anymore for two reasons One: they had things to the game but you have to pay for it??? i paid the game 60€ and to have BMX or skateboard or even snowmobile i have to pay 10€ minimum each ??? what is wrong with Ubisoft Two: there's no new race etc... i have finished every race in the game of Gear i have because i refuse to pay more money that i have already spend buying the game and i just have no more race to discover, every type of bikes races, ski races, wingsuit races,... i have done but since the released two years ago almost no new races that is bs

Ah that’s a good point. I think new races get added with the dlcs. But I agree, that’s why I said I wouldn’t recommend buying it unless you find a great price. I can understand your frustration tho, but I don’t really do the races. It’s more of a casual free roam mind clearer for me if that makes sense. But the DLCs should definitely be free. I forgot they charge for those 🤦🏾‍♂️

I put more hours in Riders than any other game since it launched. It for sure has some jank, some bugs, the usual Ubisoft “games as a service” disease, but at its heart it’s a great game and there’s a small, dedicated community that recognizes that. Ubisoft has said since launch that they’re going to give it five years minimum of active support (updates, new events etc). Year two just finished. As far as year 3 goes, we’ve seen beta tests of a more robust creation editor so you can make tracks for your friends and they teased longboards coming in a few months. The game might be small but it’s definitely active

i think that if they make a proper editor which gives the possibility of adding scenary and obstacles, and added some more parks/points of interest to the map, the game would be pretty much endless like skate 3

Tbh I think its just the genre. Its not a massive hype genre like RPG or Shooter. Kinda expected that it wouldn't grow beyond a pretty dedicated niche group of gamers. I love it tho.

This game on launch wouldn't even load for me so i got a refund and never played it again. That is most probably what happened with alot of people... same with cyberpunk, played for a couple of hours, was terrible and glitchy so got rid of it

If you think Riders Republic is Ubisoft’s most underrated game you should try Steep. It’s always on sale for like $5 and it’s amazing, it’s the predecessor to Riders Republic and while RR is better and has more to do, Steep has such great maps and verticality that RR doesn’t come close to

Streetz vol 2, ssx tricky and 3, def jam fight for new york. All these titles should be remade. But they're all under EA and i think its a liscening issue. Especially with paying rappers for def jam fight for new york, or bball players for streetz. At least thats what i saw in a video. My only gripe about riders republic is that ur racing against ghosts...not real people. That takes away from the experience imo. Other than that i fux wit it.
