The chime may not work. It may be silenced. There should be a switch next to the 3. If that doesn’t work then it may need cleaning or oiling.

My bell does not trigger when hour comes ,tho if pressed manually it works

It might be gummed up or the chiming was set up wrong by a repairman and so the starcam isn’t triggering the hour (largest lobe) even though the hand is at 12.

When you say it stopped working, do you mean the chimes stopped working or it stopped keeping time? Some clocks will use a heavier and larger weight on the right side because the chime needs more power to work. That’s why even on clocks that have weights that are all the same size. The heaviest one always goes on the right side.

I have a Ridgeway grandfather clock and it was working just fine a week or two ago. But then the pendulum stopped and although I can get it to swing it eventually stops again. The chimes work. Any suggestions?

You may have wound the weight up too high causing the movement to jam

@@samsclocks2084 yes, I thought that was the case after reviewing all of the videos. So, I removed the weights and adjusted the chains. But it is still stopping.

It is off to the side. This clock runs just fine but one day the suspension spring bent too much. Therefore the clock does not run currently and the crutch isn’t in the movement.

It could be many things. 1. The suspension spring is broken and must be replaced. 2. The pendulum could be crooked. 3. The mechanism may be dry and need oil 4. The mechanism may be gummed up and needs cleaning
