From the top there it gives the impression the Philippines is a rich country. So many high rises and lots of traffic. And a nice manicured cemetery that looks so inviting but I'd rather stay out because it's not my time.

Good points. BGC is more of a upmarket area, many corporate offices there. That is the Manila American Cemetery & Memorial. Thanks for watching =)

Hm 1 month only?
@BAdventures6 жыл бұрын
Note sure. You will have to ask if there is monthly rates. Keep in mind this is only 1 room in a building complex. So there are others also renting rooms.
@sid66897 жыл бұрын
yes I'm familiar with this location. this condo is nice and monthly rent is $400-500 I think. but with my husband, he prefers the condos within BGC (the main) or McKinley. its expensive there ranging from $600 up up up. But Makati is the most expensive.
@BAdventures7 жыл бұрын
I found Makati more affordable and convenient. Many more options for accommodation, holiday lettings, restaurants, malls etc. I just wanted to check out BGC Taguig and was fine. But shop around, more options in Makati ;)

In Vietnam, I remember when you check in the hotel, the staff takes your passport and does not turn it back to you until you check out, is this the same process in the Philippines?
@BAdventures7 жыл бұрын
Good memory. No, in Philippines they might ask to see a passport or photo ID. Some are more casual and don't care. Usually they photocopy it on check-in and give it back. In Vietnam they have to confirm your travel visa by law. A modern hotel would just photocopy the ID page and my Vietnam travel visa inside my passport. But some were a bit behind so they kept it until they could photocopy it later and get approval from a manager etc. You must have a travel visa before going to Vietnam. But they want the tourism so usually it is not hard or very quick processing.

Ross Oliva thats the viet way in every visitors since a lot of backpackers in Vietnam. They need to make sure that every visitors will pay the due rent.... i experience that last march, hilarious but need to follow hehe

Something about staying in a hotel room in a high rise in the Philippines and being stuck in an elevator during a black-(brown)-out and water pressure makes you think before booking on those levels. Lol!

I agree with Andrew, it's a worthwhile visit but you need good id to get in e.g.passport. It would have to be one of the most peaceful places in manila and the gardens are beautiful- if you ignore all the white crosses in memory of all the americans killed in the ww2 pacific theatre. I'm not a cemetery buff but the huge Chinese cemetery in manila is also an eye opening visit!

Bro I stay there nice place but the downside is traffic it really bad there
@BAdventures7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I initially thought the same. Taxi drivers would often BS and say "plus extra fee" for traffic. But after a few metered taxi's, it was not really an issue. Just peoples perceptions. Taguig is next to Makati City which has more traffic. That said Makati is much more convenient, more malls and options for everything.

Why you only do expensive condos how about cheap 2 or 3 star hotels mostly everyone that comes to Phils is not rich like you
@BAdventures7 жыл бұрын
LOL I'm not rich and I cannot please everyone. If you want 2-3 star hotel you can investigate that yourself. You won't get far in life if you just blame other people. At the time this apartment was P1500 a night, a cheap hotel with single bed and in Makati was a similar price. No amenities like the pool, kitchen, refrigerator, or working internet. The problem with cheap places is you have to inspect them in person. It may not match the advertised pictures, or not even available. It is a common trick, advertise something really cheap and attractive. Once you get there it is much higher price or a dirty old room the size of a closet. So you have to be careful regardless. Obviously not very convenient when you are travelling internationally and short on time. 2 good options I have found: Casa Rosario Pension House in Cebu City (P1000 night) kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4uWXqtsd5Wsbtk Howzat Inn, Makati City Manila (P1500 night) kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5W2eISuj76saNE

no, i never been in Taguig but looking at the traffic and pedestrians - there are no safe place to walk or across the city to go the inner BGC so i said it is bad. I lived in Manhattan nyc so comparing it, i would not live there. i like a city that i can walk safely. any suggestion in the area?
