I am going to be honest-I like Ridgid tools!! There are those (my wife) that don't understand that you have to have Ridgid Tools. I will admit that I do use Ryobi to fill the gaps and niches that Ridgid doesn't fill. I use Milwaukee accessorieas because they are good. I do have other tools to fill the gap of fine wood working. I am not construction but fine woodworking. Ridgid is real good, dang good and holds up dang good. I like dang good tools that don't bust the bank!!

Recently I got warranty reacement batteries to replace two large nicad batteries. They replaced them with 2 small lithium batteries too small to run my skill saw. I contacted them and got absolutely no joy. I complained at home depot and did finally get some resolution. Rigid shouldn't call it lifetime battery recumbent unless they are going to give u a comparable battery.

The inverter USB A ports are 5v/2A for regular charge. The USB C port is QC3.0 for fast charging or running a TS80 soldering iron. It is good, but not as fast as PD charging. The inverter itself is great. I used it to power a 24inch TV in a motorhome while travelling 3 hours to keep the kids entertained.

I have been with Ridgid for I would guess around 20 years. I started with the OLD 12in compound miter saw, and the again OLD belt drive table saw with the extended arms (one heavy .....) Funny is that those tools show in the manual Lifetime warranty verses the LSA. You didn't have to register them back then. Now the issue is 2 fold with the older tools. You know what happens to receipts from HD and they just turn black and 2nd you can't even get parts for them anymore and tossing these items in the car for service is a nope ain't happening lol. Now I am in the Ridgid 18v line of tools and have a fair amount of them plus they are ALL registered for LSA. I have loved my Ridgid tools as a garage warrior and home projects, so I will keep buying Ridgid...

Was in Home Depot today and after 10 years hanging on with ridgid tools am starting to come to the conclusion that I need to switch to Milwaukee. I love technology and it’s a huge bummer that ridgid refuses to step up their game and give there users more options instead of re-vamping the same drills saws etc. seriously disappointed and thinking it’s time to bite the bullet and go with a brand that’s going to keep up with times.

I don’t know what the big deal about the OCTANE was seem like more marketing to me. The drill with the light in the chuck I used a lot and the big impact but both were heavy if you had to use them all day. Pretty much everything I have power tool wise is Ridgid have one Metabo Germany drill that has a higher rpm. was one of the only cordless drills that had that speed at the time when I was in aviation. Was a control Engineer at my last job. Designed and built and maintained automated equipment and older machines. Burned up quite a few m12 drills. I work on light rail now and use the impacts quite a bit. They hold up well and haven’t had any problems. Don’t know why people say you can’t use Ridgid professionally. The only tools that I’ve had problems were the old brushed drills they would last, maybe about a year but I would just take them to the repair shop under warranty. Other brands that the mechanics have lasted about the same.

@@ToolReviewZone Thank you, as a man/diy'er on the Ryobi 18V One + platform I made the decision to go with Ryobi's modular tool's due to the # of tools on that battery/platform system. Batrey's aren't cheap, I don't care who or what platform you're on. A friend of mine who is a foreman in Heavy Construction and was a diesel mechanic when he was younger gave me just one piece of advice. He said, "whatever you do pick one battery line and stick with it, no matter what. In the long run you'll be happier, satisfied and go through less headaches and problem's. Replacing a tool is cheap and easy if you have the battery's." All I can say is he was 💯% right and that is fact. I just happen to choose Ryobi at the right time as they have done nothing but improve, produce and add to their line since day 1 I chose them. Of the 30+ Ryobi tool's and 50+ 18V One + battery's I own and have used not one had ever failed or let me down performance wise and everyone of them did the job I tasked them to complete. I wish the best for any out their working their skills to maximize their craft and hope they garner the same results that I have. My biggest Endorsement is for TTI, no matter which of their platform's/line's you choose you can't go wrong. They make your success on whatever job you do their priority. 🔥⚡💯⚡🔥

My two cents. I’m a contractor with ONLY cordless DeWalt tools. Corded, and specially anything plumbing related, fans and vacuums is Ridgid all the way. Now I find myself buying more Ryobi tools for the wife hobbies Interests these days. And for the occasional odd tool I might need. I never liked Milwaukee, when I was younger I used to always confuse Hilti and Milwaukee tools. 😂 it was that damm red color. Well Hilti is waaaay to rich for my skin and Milwaukee tools feel like you are holding gigantic dildos. My hands are on the smaller side and the first time I grabbed a DeWalt tool, all I did was smile 😊 Also, I don’t know if you’re old enough to remember Tim the tool man, so I’m sort of like that mentality where I think more power is always better but the 12 V DeWalt line is sooooooo NASSS LIKE,,,, sweet!!!! Specially as I get older, I’m digging these smaller tools. Milwaukee’s 12v line 🤢🤮 Dildoes!

It's always worth looking at other alternatives. Yesterday thanks to this channel I went out and got a Flex stackpack set for quite a bargain - couldn't be happier for my use/case/needs. For a fraction of the cost of what Milwaukee has to offer as of time of writing. Thank you! Additionally: *For the battery people* , though I too would advocate for slower charging phones & batteries, when it comes to using a power inverter as the source of USB charging - you're limited by the phone's own BMS. In other words, if the inverter says it can output on port A** a max of 5V @ 2A, that's not necessarily going to be the case when you plug your phone in. You can use apps/tools to verify this like Ampere (android) and see whether it's really slamming/"fast charging" it, or merely fluctuating like a normal 'generic dumb charger' would. It'll always also be apparent because on the lockscreen it will say *charging* as opposed to *fast charging*, which is another helpful but useful dead giveaway that it's not really going to fast charge your device/phone in this context. I hope that helps clarify some stuff because it's not uncommon for all types of marketing labels to not line up with reality or what it can actually do. IF your phone came with a special charger like a Warp charger or whatever else; things change as it's essentially removing that ceiling for even more juice like 5V @ 3A (and there are those with even higher capabilities, esp. on newer phones where it can do even MORE. such as Xiaomi with their 210W fast charging - yup you read that correctly! Lol 210W!). **(arbitrary letter/port for this example). Do also note when more than 1 device is plugged in it'll tend to drop the voltage so if at max it's rated "5V 2A" with 1 phone plugged in; then 2 phones = 5V @1A. Mainstream portable chargers do the same thing, higher end ones offer the capability of offering the full output on more than 1 port, but that's another topic entirely. EDIT: Punctuation. Also, LOVE it when more manufacturers implement *active cooling* into any charging devices. That's a sign of attention to detail that is going to make it last longer - both the electronics inside as much as the batteries - awesome.

Cell phone charges are smart. The actually communicate with the phone and feed it as much as it will take and no more. Cell phone batteries have no memory of how fast or slow they were charged. Therefore, plug your phone into any usb charger and it will charge as fast as it can with the power available doing no harm.

@@AllTattedUp13 the only Bosch Ive ever seen was a dismantle mess in the maintenance office under some boxes but yes any thing Milwaukee will disappear faster then you can finish a can of beer. DeWalt will walk off too... After a few hours. Oddly enough Ryobi is treated the same as RidGid. I've seen a guy with a flex tool tied to his wrist. I'm like okay. You know your working with moron when they don't even know what festool is about. And we have a ruin festool track saw everyone just abuse the poor thing.

It feels like their quality is honestly worse? I got a drill from the homeless despot and it literally looks like a knock off. The batteries look cheaper made too. Its like the overall marketing changed or something. Anyone can explain this?

I love it. As a fanboy I agree with you 100%. They got stale, seemed like they were trying and pushing hard to get new users to the platform and not looking at what the og users who were already invested wanted. Now they must be reading the comments and taking notes on what the og users want with the OPE and track saw. 2023 is going to be exciting for all the Ridgid fans.

Only issue with this unit is that it is not a pure sign wave 👎. So use it on electronic at your own risk 🤷‍♂️.

Everything I had with a battery is team Orange. My only complaint is that charge more for less rated power. Their mid and high torque have less power but cost more. We finally got a drill rated to the same specs as a gen 3 Milwaukee. An impact driver spec rated to a gen 3 Milwaukee too. No if TTI could pull their head out their ass and let Ridgid make some better more reliable tools that Ryobi makes, that would be great. Most consumers won't buy into a new battery platform just for one off tools. I wouldn't mind a right angle die grinder made by Ridgid designers. I have 23 Ridgid batteries. I don't need another battery platform I have already got dewalts 12v Xtreme line up that's enough. Really wish I went skil 12v instead though.

Ridgid most their way a long time ago. I honestly don't give a F about their power tools. Ridgid goes in the same bucket as Porter Cable and Delta. These all used to be great brands but conglomeration needed all of them up. Ridgid actually invented some great tools. They're dead as a tool company. They just regurgitate everything TTI

The only issue I have with todays power tools is they still have multiple types of batteries ( like Ryobi vs Ryobi HP. ) They should make batteries that work in every tool at it's highest configuration. Rigid just replaced the Octane name with Max.

I have Ridgid tools and they're great. But I also agree that I am frustrated by their limited lineup. I see all the options Milwaukee offers and kind of wish I picked that sometimes. Or even Ryobi. I like the ridgid batteries better, but love the variety of tools Ryobi offers.
