I actually like the dust port there. When I am cutting steps or cutting strips out of sheeting or repetitive cuts on the same piece of material, the dust port on the Makita puts the dust right where you need to cut your next cut. I've tried both. I prefer the Ridgid style.

As far as I know, you are supposed to remove the black plastic exhaust port if you are not going to use a hose. Owners manual page 11. After you remove the hose port, don't forget to put the screw back in the hole so you don't lose it.

blade right saws are handy for doing crosscutting because more of the shoe is in contact with the board with small cutoffs or trimming the end of a board. blade left is better suited for ripping with a small cutoff because more of the shoe is on the right of the blade. If you've ever had to trim 1/4" off the end of a board with a blade left saw it makes you wonder if you are cutting 90 degrees or not.

I'm just a painter and have no skin in the game but, if you have to modify a tool right out of the box (particularly dust collection) you should be returning it. I get that you're on the battery platform already but, god that dust port is horribly placed.

The saw dust really does not bother me? It’s ergonomic feel , the power, and hook ? For me as a finish carpenter I am cutting up material I demo or sheet goods! I just can not pull away from my Makita rear handle and My Makita 6.5” trim saw! Some of my stools I cut out or down w/ the 6.5” ! How about the Metabo 7 1/4 “ I heard good things bout it ? Great video thank you!

Ridgid is my for every day use, i have ridgid right blade 7-1/4 octane. But just got makita 36v left blade like to power and the cost. (Makita 36 kit with 2 free batteries, sell or return extra batteries and saw kit came out to be $155 ) like makita kit for the price and power instead of ridgid $350

Did you ever do a follow up on the Ridgid rear handle saw?
@AMAYERICAN
@AMAYERICAN 3 ай бұрын
No, maybe Alex did on his channel Swantek enterprise but it’s essentially the same as the Milwaukee saw, dust port is a major flaw, Makita or metabo hpt is where it’s at for circ saws in my opinion. Awesome framers have a great video on the topic

Dude your Wrong about Left handed people can't run rear handle, or worm drive Saw or blade left saws you're wrong on that. I'm a Left Handed and I assure you that I can run that Makita 36V rear handle saw so accurately as my Makita 5377mg Hypoid Saw and my Bosch CSW41 Worm Drive saw. On every circular saw there's a cut out window that you can see the blade where it is cutting, I can also use my right hand as well I'm Ambidextrous guy both of my Left hand and Right hand are dominant. I never had any problems wether it's a left side bladed saws or right side bladed saws, actually as a Left handed I strongly prefer Left side Blade circular saws (right handed people saws) over the typical side winders because with the side winders like Skil SPT67WMB or Makita 5007mg the saw dust is shooting directly into my face instead of the saw dust should go directly downward whereas the Left side Blade saws (right handed people saws) the saw dust is coming out downward away from my face and I don't get exposed to the chemicals of lumbers coming from the saw dust especially when I'm cutting pressure treated lumbers and OSB's or Plywoods.

That’s awesome! What’s ur favorite saw ?
@twinbee4243
@twinbee4243 Жыл бұрын
@@AMAYERICAN of course my favorite circular saw is The Makita 5377mg Hypoid Saw it's heavy it weighs 13 lbs but it doesn't matter to me actually I'm used to it's weight. As Left handed I feel safer using Left side Blade saws (right handed people saws) than the blade right typical side winders since my hands and fingers are away from the blade that's safe enough for me. My 2nd favorite circular saw is The Bosch CSW41 Worm Drive and my 3rd Favorite is The Makita 5477NB Hypoid Saw with Prazi Beam cutter. That's it! And the other saw that I have which is the Makita XSR01 36V Rear Handle is only for my backup saw or for Metal cutting.
