Looks like my tank.... Same situation.. Thriving tank and fast forward to now and things went bad fast and Red Field ratio inversed. Good luck and please keep us posted on how this tank does... I am torn between restarting. Very discouraging when the tank was thriving and then to a state of disaster.

Before your major tank maintenance Was the owner using RO water or tap water ? Was the owner using a uv sterilizer ? Was the owner using a protein skimmer ? Was there any algae eating snails in the tank ? Did the tank have a sump ?

It all depends on the time/ labor needs. Cover your cost then make sure whatever profit comes makes it worth the labor out into it. P.s sorry about the ridiculous late response.

U got some dinos, not cyano. “Brown algae” in this case is dinos.
