Oh yes.. It can be a suprise - cheerful when unexpected. Was tossed off ever so gently once. My fault totally. My horse did not run to the barn. I lay there on my back in compete suprise, he is standing there chewing, looking closely at my laughing face as if to say.." how did you get on the good earth, get back up, we were having so much fun together " haha chuckle " in horse language. I so loved that horse, will always remember that ride and other fun with him. He passed from colic complications about 7 yrs later. Heartbreaking for us. Our Vet said he was such a smart, personable horse. He was all of that and more!

This is - I think - my favorite video subject: Seeing the 3-year olds become successful, grown-up members of the herd. Actually, I have been watching your channel for so long now that I have had the honor/joy of seeing foals be born and then progress all the way through the 3-year childhood to adulthood. I hope that Frieda has a successful birth this year so that I see the cycle truly complete. It is a joy to watch you and the Stal G family - first as you care for and nurture the foals and young horses through the different, delightful stages of the first three years of their lives (including excellent pre-natal care!) and -second, as you train and guide the three-year olds as they transition to young adults, and, - finally, as you continue to care for, guide, train, love and provide so generously for all the beautiful mama’s. And you always have extra love and care to share, for example, with foster “pakes’ like Sjors.

Prior to commenting here, I reviewed videos of both Geerje and Ginny inspections. Geetje was deemed with very few flaws in each of the categories hence 1st premium and 👑. Ginny was evaluated with some flaws in build but won over the judges with superior movement with second premium ⭐ I very much enjoyed to see the two in the arena together as we can see the differences in type and movement. Both beautiful quality Frisian mares 👍 Maybe Ginny with such good balance and work ethics can achieve sport predicate 👍

I had 3 horses in high school, an Arabian with excellent training and a show background, a thinner more nervous Arabian and a quarter horse. In Arizona we did all desert trail riding. Your description of training 2 different style Frisians reminds me of the difference in riding my 3 horses. The quarter horse was always relaxed, held her head down and was difficult to change gait but was a trooper. I used her when hanging out with my friends. The well bred Arabian was always attentive, had his head up always alert and reacted immediately. All he needed for a gait change and jumping logs was leaning forward and back in the western saddle. I rode him on long, challenging mountain rides. I was the only one that rode him. Even my father was afraid to ride him. When I saw a gait change coming in your video I naturally leaned forward in my recliner. It’s that natural. Your videos are so FUN! Plz more like thus with specifics.

Interesting to see the training of young horses, especially out in the meadow where they've spent so much "free" time. You can practically see their brains learning that no matter where they are, being 'under orders' they can't leap and play like before. They have to look to their riders for all instructions, and trust them if something scary happens. So it's interesting to see the very beginning of that lesson. Thanks!

And she got more training elsewhere just before her inspection. She learned fast!!! Because she was great at inspection and her composure really impressed me (because she is kind of a diva with all that confidence). As you can tell, I clearly think Geertje is special. And I don't have a trained eye, so whatever she has must really stand out, lol, if I can see it that plainly.

It is interesting how much more tall Geertje is than Ginny. I understand what you are telling us about how much more difficult it is for Geertje to do some of the gaits due to her size. On your walk in the pasture, hearing the clop of the shoes on the path brings a question: The is the first time a filly or colt have the blacksmith work on their feet? It must take great patience for the smith to work with young horses. As I recall you showed Rising Stars breeder how you've worked to teach him to lift his foot when asked and that would be very interesting an episode---first's for the young ones. You acclimate them to halters, being tied up, their mother's going away briefly, but what else are milestones for young horses? This was a great episode.

Ginny was 1.61 at her inspection and she looks taller to me here. Rommert is 1.72 so I don’t think Ginny is done growing.

@@Tenebarum Your right as 3 yr olds the ladies still have quite the a bit of growing to do. In general Friesian’s take longer than other breeds to mature so will continue to grow until they’re between 7 to 8 years old.😊❤️

Gorgeous horses! Great seating of the riders. Isn’t it amazing that these beautiful animals listen to people and allow people to ride them at different paces and in different places and that they stop when the rider says “Ho” when they could just as easily keep on going!

I'm amazed at how very much there is to learn and get to know about horses, from their individual personalities and builds and how that affects their training, to the proper diet and nutrition, veterinary care, the list goes on. It's so interesting, I really enjoy learning new things every time I watch - thank you! 👍

You make it look so easy! My mare’s grand sire was Heinse 354. Her head often comes out of her butt and canter transitions are not easy. I’m still learning (10 years on) and humbled by her intelligence and courage. I also giggle when she yields to hissing kittens. Thank you for setting such a good example.

I always love watching the Friesians under saddle, and love the way Yvonne explains the training. These 2 young mares are just stunning, each in her own way. I never noticed how much taller Geertje is until that first shot in the video! I wonder how close in size she is to Uniek? The difference in personalities is clear, too. Ginny is so relaxed, ready to give a little buck, no foaming at the bit! Geertje is so focused, trying so hard to understand and get everything right. Thank you all for this wonderful video!😊

I'm not 100% on this, but after seeing Yvonne's measuring video, I think I remember Uniek being a bit taller (but not by much). Geertje may catch her if she's still growing.

It will be exciting watching them become experts from their training. The meadow ride was very relaxing & beautiful. Thank you for this very educational video! 🐴🐎🐎🐴🐎❤💕💖 LOVE TO ALL!!🤗❤💕 Grandma Sherry

@@stephanielouiseslade6323 that's interesting because I went into the channel & watch the 3yr Olds from a yr ago! Else & dern I forget her name but she was scared & it started with a B! smh🤦‍♀️ it's heck getting old!! And today 2 of the beautiful 3 yr Olds are training!! Geertje is so big it looked kind of bumpy but Ginny being smaller & compact she was a bit smother. Maybe @Linda can ask Yvonne & let us know how differently they ride new in training.

I learnt so much watching this. I could really see how the different outline of the horse which is of course a result of their breeding impacts on each of their development and movement. Geertje may be Crown (fantastic news) but she is young and moves a bit awkwardly at the moment so she needs more time to develop balanced cohesion with training. So interesting thank you.
