Haha. Last time I was there I left by ambulance! The WW1 connection is it was once a big training area for soldiers and the trail names are the same names they gave to trenches built. There is not far away a restored and preserved trench network you can visit. Must go back there one day! 👍🚴🏾🙂
@PaulGreenVlog3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nige. After i filmed the vlog i actually read on a sign about the WW1 training camp and saw the signs for the trenches. Must take a look at them next time i go. Hope you're OK buddy

Last went there in the mid 90s, can’t remember any marked routes though. I do remember cycling down a ‘disused’ railway near the edge of the forest only to meet the tail end of a coal train waiting to enter one of the local mines 😳 Must revisit as I’m moving up to the vale this year.

There's a good choice marked trails. It can get busy though!

Yes i used to go to fineshades quite a lot. I was thinking actually just the other day that its a long time since ive been that way

Now, we’ll definitely have to meet you over there Paul 👍🏻 We’ve been once when we were with the cycling club, jumped straight into the red route!!! 🤦🏽♀️ didn’t see much of the place really. We were hoping to go back mid week before the schools broke up for summer but it wasn’t meant to be

Despite living about 40 mins away I’ve never actually been to Sherwood Pines! Quite impressed with the facilities, but after watching yours and “Bike and Beyond” video I’d say the trails don’t offer enough challenge or variety. Still a great vlog Paul and very informative 👍

The Red Kitchener route is challenging to do in a quick time rather than challenging to be able to do.... Theres a couple of places that make your bum tweak, but linking various parts together its not easy, but not challenging like Welsh centre is
@Teifilass3 жыл бұрын
Wow that a lovely route, I wouldn’t mind paying if only we could have some routes like that in Pembrokeshire.

Ive managed to break my checkpiint shifter but when its replaced ill be doing a vlog of the blue route at sherwood which is just perfect for gravel bikes
@Teifilass3 жыл бұрын
Oh hope it won’t be too long to get it fixed, definitely made me want to get out on a bit of gravel soon, I’m struggling to get my butt out these days, but your vlogs and few others get me motivated again.

If you go regularly it’s worth buying a season ticket for the car park. It was £50 for a year the last time I bought one about 18 months ago.
