I owned a 180 just like this in the early 90s. I live by the beach and everyone would make fun of me but i was always 1st on the beach. The back compartment held a towel, 6 pack and everything you needed. Over 65 mph holds smooth.

The title and thumbnail were kind of misleading because I thought it was going to be about letting a customer or friend take a test ride who had never been on a scooter before, but I'm not too mad because the Riva 125 is a respectable bike in its own right. Probably not the one I would buy because of its lack of underseat storage, but still looks really fun.

Nice video.. Saturday here in Connecticut supposed to be in the lower 50s and mostly sunny so I'm taking my buddy 50 out for a nice long ride

Even though it's ancient, the styling on the Riva 125 still looks pretty good. Obviously, Yamaha was trying to compete head-to-head with the Honda Elite line.

I grew up in the 80's, so I always liked the Elite style better than the retro Vespa style. Maybe 80's retro will make a comeback soon :)

I own one and weigh 185.maxed out is about 58mph on a smooth straight road.

Nice job! I went out for a ride on my scoot today for the first time in a month. PennDot loves mixing little stones in with the road salt, so it’s kind of like riding on marbles, but it’s still good to get out on the road again!

I would toss that windshield ASAP. I can't imaging having to ride behind that huge hunk of plastic that you can barely see through. My 2015 Lance Cali Classic zips right up to 55 mph real quick, and I have hit 62 GPS on a flat level road. I do love the look of that scooter though (without the plastic barn door on the front)

I really like the Yamaha Riva 125, I actually own the first year model 1985. Kyle did fine, however I'd recommend using that rear brake.

ebay has everything. except for carbs are impossible to find. but i retrofitted a chinese carb and it runs like a top.
