I got a brand new anniversary R1 in 2016 for my 50th birthday and I still laugh like that every time I go out especially after it was mapped 5 years back ! It wakes you up for sure as it’s making 189bhp at the wheel. I love it and it’s here to stay ! Do love my MT10 sp though as it’s much more comfortable on the arse cheeks and the wrists 🤪😜🤣🤣🤣🏍️🏍️

I know they're probably too much for the roads these days but i'm really sad to watch the demise of 1000cc superbikes(not that i'd ever be able to afford one new). I'm just happy there'll be a steady supply of used examples but I do worry for the used prices if they don't eventually make a return. Pretty much every day I regret selling my RSV4 RF.

Love the R1, it's a monster! That being said, because I'm a two stroke guy I'd choose an R6 for it's high r.p.m power band. Rode all kinds of bikes, never could get used to the low end, mid range torque of the big inline four strokes. It's just what I'm accustomed to, keeping the revs above 6,000.

I rode my mates Kwak H2 Supercharged with the limiter off with a Akrapovic Exhaust ,it's completely insane ,I got to 170 mph and my arse went he's had it to 205 mph on a runway of course ,tbh the throttle is in my opinion dangerous zero to full throttle is under 2 inch wind on if you slip just slightly its gone ,you need tons of practice and miles on the clock to even try to get used to it and to feel confident, looks fabulous but not for me ,in the wrong hands all these super sport bikes are lethal and for me not enjoyable, I will stick to my 1973 Z1B 900 wich i have owned since 1978 for me the most beautiful sport tourer ever made and still flies no technology only a steering damper and she draws a crowd everywhere i go but i do like the new retro version of it

That thing scared the sh!t out of me to the point where i sold it off after just 2 months. Made a £2k profit and went back to MT-07. Now have an MT-09 and an Aprilia RS 660. Back in the day I had the opportunity to ride a 1980 Suzuki GS1000, and I absolutely loved everything about it. The problem was that open throttle would launch me immediately into super-legal speed, and with the number of points I had my license, one more ticket and I was going to be walking. Many years later I had the opportunity to ride a mid '90's Suzuki RF900R, and it was dramatically faster. I can't imagine what a current liter class superbike would feel like.

I am on my second purchase of a 2019 R1m because the previous owner had upgraded to brembo gp4-rx and a corsa corta master with abs delete as well as a whole host of upgrades like ohlins steering damper, gilles rear sets, ima clip ons, carbon air intake , ima air filter and so on etc. The reason why i went back to the R1m is because it is reliable and an awesome and exciting superbike if ridden hard. I had the 2020 bmw s1000rr-m which was bland and boring and i found it hard work to get the most out of it at the higher speed (180+) because it would make me tired of trying to ring the neck out of it. The 2022 rsv4 factory was a step above the R1m and R1 in terms of power and torque and i could feel it in the way the bike would wheelie on slight lumps in the road surface when i wound the throttle back 90 ish % but my 2022 rsv4 factory had a coolant leak (at 1000 miles give or take a few) which was fixed after about 6 weeks and eventually led to a complete engine failure about 1000 miles after- which was replaced under warranty, after i got the bike back after a complete engine change, it then had an oil leak after less than 50 miles after i picked the bike up so i handed it back to the dealership. The yamaha R1 and R1m is the bike to have if your looking to have the kind of fun without a pilots licence and access to a jet plane but want the reliability of 100,000 miles of reliability with the regular service intervals and minor part replacements. It is insane how this bike performs if you can ride it to its full potential and the little bit of power that i wish it had at the top end is something that i will live with compared to its euro rivals lack of reliability.

At the wheel? Surely it doesn't lose 40ishbhp from crank to wheel?

Would of liked to see it on the back wheel, but then again I don't think you have the skills, BMW. RR for me

I do the occasional wheelie, but I've never perfected the clutch up since doing the wheelie school a few years ago. Simply, the law here will throw the book at you if you are caught wheelieing. So I've not really spent the time doing it more. RR is great, but I think it lacks a bit of character.

The reason why superbikes r disappearing is because people arnt buying them , if u don't want em ta disappear, whip ur wallet out , and why do people worry that their feet arnt flat on the ground, u don't have ur feet on the ground when u ride , u shouldn't ride a bike if u can't at standstill tippy-toe with 1 foot an the deck

When they first brought them out 1st gear speed was quoted at 93mph,think later one's will just clear 100mph before rev limiter cuts in 🤔,too fast for me now😅. Good job they weren't around in the 80's 😅

I hear you, but in reality, unless you are a Terminator you will feel it on your wrists with the 20/30mph roads we have. I dare anyone to come out on my test route and feel fresh at the end on one of these bikes!

If we can speed in uk roads why selling a bike like that...??? To ride 70 MPH...??? German Autoban is the best example how to do the things right ! Not like GREEDY Vision Zero/ police uk company looking for money. Buy a ebay folding license plate and ignore the uk speed limits ridiculous law
