Much nicer run along the coast, rather than the 'Doom Dieway'... Thanks for the info.

Such a beautiful route if you have the time, that's for sure.

I bought an unregistered car in Brisbane, a 1982 XE Falcon ESP Ghia 5.8L, and drove it all the way to Canberra...overnight in Coffs Harbour, then the next day all the way to Canberra. Was not pulled over at all, even though highway patrol overtook me a couple of times. The car didn't have any rego plates either. All I had was the permit from QLD registry to drive the car from point A to point B.

That is like the ultimate ESP to own, very nice - wow! Always a great way to get to know a new car, on a road-trip like that. Different era I suppose, a lot more trust in some ways - a high-trust society. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Thanks mate, it was a bit sketchy at a couple of points. The back tyre was a little bald as well... 😂

Good old Rosebud! I used to live there and worked in the industrial estate for a few years. Totally badass mate, riding unregistered and speeding! I would never do that! 🤣 I've towed an unregistered trailer from the Mornington Peninsula to the Gold Coast, a lot of people don't realise you can get unregistered vehicle permits. I had to get one from VicRoads for that journey. Ah rain! I've just spent the last 2 days riding and standing around in solid rain. 🤣

I didn't know you could do that. Very cool. I love how Japanese bikes start first time everytime

That Honda has surprised me so many times starting up after a long break like it was nothing. Very worthwhile knowing you can relocate a bike with a few permits, opens up a lot of possibilities!

That's cool. Registration status of bikes, when you have more than one...becomes an optional extra

It's the problem with n+1.. those registrations can really add up..!

I didn't know you could legally do that. Cool.

It really opens a lot of doors - there's some beautiful bikes in different states and a lot of fun to "go and get them". Cheers mate!

So they dont check for current rego when issuing a speeding fine? Is that because you are over the border and Vic and NSW are not connected?
@TheSlab244 күн бұрын
They check the relocation permit is valid, and they check your license. I think there is some sort of state jurisdiction thing with information they can and can't access, but I'm not certain. In any case, with the correct permits in each state and a valid license, it's all good, no stress.

Cool bananas. Pity about the rain. Ride dry. Cheers

Cheers mate, the rain was beautiful - but pretty slippery and a bit sketchy with the occassional tailgater..!

Heheh, it got me home this time - but it didn't when I got stranded at Pine Creek in NT a few months ago..! Thanks for watching, great to see you! 👍😁

Few more personal details please mate so I can contact the authorities about your law breaking activities.. That said cool vid .. I remember riding back from Melbourne to Perth in 2015 on my first Indian with no number plate, just a piece of paper.. Amazed I was never pulled over.. although my reputation was spread far and wide. 😅 Love the music mate..

Heheh, yeah that really is amazing - you think you'd get pulled over a few times at least to check that you've got the permit. Very cool, I enjoy that story of that trip. It's a good track.

Riding unregistered is plain ‘dumb’. Third Party Insurance is designed so that when you ‘accidentally hit someones kid at a school crossing’ you won’t have to pay off damages for the rest of your life…..or lose your house.

You can get third party with a permit
@TheSlab245 күн бұрын
Cheers James, I had third-party insurance especially for the permit I got for the unregistered relocation. I appreciate your concern, there are certainly genuinely unregistered and uncaring drivers out there. Thanks for watching!
