Welcome to Texas....Glad you guys are enjoying the ride through our state. You mentioned all of the "road kill" earlier. Yes, we do have a very abundant, and varied assortment of wildlife here. Unfortunately, it's not only the larger species that you need to be mindful of. Some counties, including the areas around Bandera have "open grazing". It's not uncommon to top a hill, and have a herd of 2 thousand pound cattle in the middle of the roadway. Also, some of the smaller wildlife can pose a problem for scooters and metal cages, alike. We have Porcupines! Hit one of those little critters, and their quills will destroy your tires, and quite probably, make you lay your scooter down. Can't wait to see your video of the "Sisters"!!! I rode all 3 , back in October on my TriGlide (both of my legs are partially prosthetic, so no "geezer scooter" comments please). As l'm sure that you've by now experienced, the Sisters can be challenging, and the vistas will take your breath away (along with some of the dropoffs and switchbacks). Hopefully, you all escaped the adventure unharmed, and got to stop at the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop, in Leakey, Texas ( pronounced-- Lay-Key) for a "post ride celebration", and a few adult beverages. l don't know if you guys got to ride it, or have even heard of another excellent ride about 60 miles to the Northeast of Bandera. It's called the "Devil's Backbone". It's a documented "haunted" stretch of highway, North of Canyon Lake, and well worth the time. Damn good video of my home state. I’m stuck in Tennessee right now, but I did ride my Electra glide ultra back to Texas in June of 2020. Did bout 1900 round trip. Not a long trip but a good one. Fredericksburg Is a German settlement! With some American influence...

One thing I’m confused about is why do you always report your elevation above sea level? I understand the temperature to communicate how comfortable the ride is. I’m sure there’s a good reason that I don’t understand being a novice. I thought the only time elevation really mattered/ meant anything was at more extreme elevations (mountains) on carbureted bikes, cuz you might have to switch out jets to keep the bike running smoothly?

It's just our thing. Sometimes we're at more extreme highs or lows, and it never hurts to share the info for those that may be carbureted or are simply interested. Thanks for watching, Eric!
