Riding Lawn Mower Cracked Gas Tank Issue How To Bypass (2019) Craftsman

This is a video on how to bypass the gas tank under the seat that they do not make anymore u can sometimes find them used on ebay for a lot of money this is the cheapest and easiest way. This is 1 of a few I will be posting on this tractor, The motor that was on in blew up so we have to put another engine and rewire this bad boy. I got the same lawn mower GT 5000 with the high and low gear that I got for free I've been working on I had the gas tank split I plastic welded it with a soldering iron and some zip ties and then I JB plastic welded it on top of that and it works but I'm about right where you're at on the rear tank swapping around on a Husqvarna thanks for the video

Good job, ah ha , your funny, i am dealing with the same delema, retoring a unit that dropped a pushrod and bad fuel pump. I am going to see if i can use the cracked original tank, if not you gave me some ideas. Thanks, and the mower ready to sell "big red" looks great, nice work. .. John

That's the issue I had. I was able to actually find a red gas can that fits in the front perfectly.

My tank was busted all around, I didn't have room for the battery under the seat without raising the seat. So I mounted an aluminum 2 gallon tank (they can be found by searching "aluminum hot hod gas tank" they're about a $100 bucks) behind the seat, I also ran a steel gas line all the way to the pump. The external tank might look weird, but it's much safer, and the steel gas line is better than the rubber that ran very close to the belts.

I had the red one I'll be putting the battery where I can Fuel lines is cloggedand I had to take it all apart just to get to the fuel line I think

there is a guy on ebay that sekks a dixon tank thats the same as original for $26, just changed it on my husqvarna

I have 2000 Poulan Pro 42" cut. Is there a cheaper gas tank than the AYP/Husqvarna replacement.

Thanks. Same problem. I have a DLT3000 with a 16.5 hp Honda GXV530 EXA2 since I bought in 2002. The motor is still holding up well. Been thinking about doing what you did. Search came up with your channel. Will make a video when I tackle this before soon. Any advice about battery box would be helpful. Like what you did.

I’m thinking on doing this set up . I’m getting tired on fixing my tank in the under seat and spending on a new one that more then likely crack again. I hope it’s so essay like to say to do this change.

Do you have a video of how to remove the underseat tank? Thanks....seen some tanks for $150. What about using the fuel tanks that mount in front of the dash?
