Pete awesome riding and footage. I was slightly Nervous when you got deep into the woods and could possibly get stuck. If you ride for 1 hour thats about 10 miles out in the woods there is NO way you are going to just walk out in deep snow in 10 minutes. You might be in a situation of o shit... If you still have cell service thats great but it could be hours and hours before someone finds you out in the woods. I was on a snowmobile trip in Northern New Hampshire Pittsburgh when we started to get stuck in what we thought was a trail but it was a small river. One sled almost didnt start after falling into the icy water. so there we were in 20 miles of woods Wet Cold and stuck sleds in icey water. My buddy knew of a small group of cabins near by he has seen before and he knew one of the guys. We got to that cabin and There was people there I didnt know. I was so cold and wet that i just took all my clothos off and went to the wood stove like I was family...That situation was almost Death of us we were NOT prepared. And there is NO way we could have walked back to the cabin almost 10 miles away in -20 degrees at night in the Pitch dark. With NO way to start a fire really and standing in what seamed like 2 feet of snow we were both scared. BE safe bro!!! PS LOVE the raptor. Im thinking about getting a 2019 700r SE white blue color. but 9200 is insane amount. Might be worth it though.

Would these tires 4snow be better or something like the kenda bear claws on the back? I have a 700 also.
@PeteHager5 жыл бұрын
I like these 4 snow tires, some people have commented they use them in the summer on hard surfaces but I would think they would wear pretty fast. The bear claw may be a better tire if you plan on using it in mixed conditions that isn't always just snow. If your looking for just a snow tire I would think the 4 snows may be a better option since they expand taller then 22 inches at speed. I haven't noticed any power loss or anything with them.

I love your content I would just like to know what materials you you to clean your quad I don’t know what to use on my raptor 660
@PeteHager5 жыл бұрын
I actually just use dawn dish soap! I've been washing the raptor almost every single ride. If you do a thorough cleaning on your 660 and wash it regularly it'll stay much cleaner. Once you let all the filth sit on it for an extended period of time it takes much longer to clean
@snowboardingraptor70055 жыл бұрын
Materials or products? It depends on how shitty the quad gets. A light hose down is always good and wipe with a cloth. Pressure washers can push water into joints bearings and electrics. Autoglym tyre shine brings plastics and tyres up awesome. Just wipe off. Even apply to the seat.👍🏼👌🏼

Im debating buying a raptor. But not sure how reliable they are… if anybody has got any advice it would be much appreciated. Not sure wether to follow my head or my heart with it lol
@PeteHager2 жыл бұрын
I got a solid 150 hours out of my Raptor and I wasn’t the nicest to the motor back then. I used to do a lot more limiter taps and I ran Yamalube for the life of that engine. After the crank went out my mechanic told me there was an odd residue inside the motor that is common with people running yamalube. Then I found out they outsource their oil production to the lowest bidder and saw tons of personal accounts of people having negative experiences with their oil. Even though I changed it every 3-4 rides it still most likely contributed to my motor failure. I’m running a Torco semi synthetic in it now. The bulk of the community agrees that the Raptor is one of the most reliable machines you can buy! If I could only have one quad it would be the one for that very reason 😊👍

Gotcha, now I'm wondering how they'll do in the sand. Hopefully I'll get up to snow country this winter so my raptor can play in it for the first time, kinda hard to beat the imperial sand dunes though. I have a couple sets of sand paddles I wanna try in the snow just for shits and giggles.
@PeteHager3 жыл бұрын
@@hoffmiermp Paddles seem to work pretty good in snow! Especially if it's hard pack. The extra 3 inches of ground clearance on the 4snow's makes a huge difference because you're rarely dragging your swing arm. The imperial sand dunes are amazing, I cant wait to go back and see more! 😬

How do you like this compared to the yfz450? What did you like about each one? I’m really struggling picking between the two and haven’t had a chance to ride them both.
@PeteHager5 жыл бұрын
I struggled with the same decision. It really came down to what my needs were and what they're designed for. I know I'm primarily riding trails and ditches so the raptor seemed like the more practical choice. The YFZ is an amazing machine but is definitely more track and racing oriented with its design and riding geometry. I know I would've been happy with either but am glad I started with the Raptor. I would love to own both someday! I also assumed the Raptor would have more reliability in the long run but it all depends on how well you maintain them. I have a good friend with a new 450R so I'm planning on trying it out and lining them up for drag race this spring to compare power.
