I use the "if a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it, then it doesn't make a sound" theory about my bike riding. If there's no one else on the trail I can ride any speed and I'm not speeding. Same with stop signs. If there are no cars in sight, then I don't stop. After over 40 years of cycling in my area, I've mastered routes that are as deserted as possible for the day and time I'm riding.

I got a Mokwheel tor plus couple weeks ago and love it, but keep finding myself riding the Engwe. Made two videos this week both on the Engwe. Such a great value.

It was close to 70F yesterday Here in Sylacauga Alabama. I went on a 13 mile ride in the country. Here are worse things on the road than cars and the occasional bike chasing dog-overloaded logging trucks. With everything tightened up, tires properly inflated, and battery fully charged, the ride was much better. While I didn’t notice much difference in cushioning, the seat is over thirteen inches wide spreading the impact out over a larger area, softening the blows. Oh, and my balls thank me for the new seat. Handling is much better, especially in the turns, and the bike coasts easier. The bike coasted going downhill to over 30 mph. It never did that before, but I was running on severely under inflated tires. Before inflating the tires, it felt like motor drag was slowing the bike down when I let off the throttle. Now it isn’t using nearly as much power. It dropped two bars in thirteen miles. The brakes are breaking in, and stopping better. I did notice that I need to tighten up the front brake cable tension a smidge. While I still want to upgrade to mechanical over hydraulic brakes, it isn’t the top priority. I’m seriously considering purchasing a suspension seat post, but first I need calipers to measure the stock seat post size. After improving the brakes and suspension, the bike will be as close to ideal as I can make it. The only other thing it can use is more range, but that hasn’t been a problem yet, and it can be solved by purchasing another battery-double the battery capacity, and double the range.

Step over height; I had the exact same problem with my Himiway Cruiser e-bike, similar design, until I changed the seat which gave me just enough room to clear the crotch area when I stopped during a ride, made it safer to ride also and I have improved confidence controlling my Step through monster which I love. I’m the same height 5’10”, 31” inseam. I am loosing weight in prep for knee replacement surgery. ❤

I’m commenting as I watch.. sorry 😎 The extra virgin olive oil, cold pressed it very good for you! You may wish to use white vinegar instead of the apple cider vinegar. Four of my family members had diabetes and they changed up their diets to strengthen their immune system and to burn fat. You can add honey to recipes instead of sugar. Lemon and honey on your foods and in your drinks are very good for you. Also, salt has a lot to do with diabetes as well, might want to check what kinds of salts and how much you’re taking into your body. Best of health to you!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😊

Hey Russ everyone loves pizza! Costco sells a frozen cauliflower pizza in a variety of combos, NO CARBS and tastes surprizingly good. Try the sugar free dressings at your local grocery stores there's so many varieties maybe even a Catalina. Looks like you're on your way to a healthier life style putting in the hard work. I always had to ride defensively on my little motorcycles , back in the 70s , and I recall a few safety films for bicycles in school, during the 60s . But these days, defensive driving is necessary whatever your mode of transport!

Hey Russ, don’t worry about pizza - I know you want to lose weight so are counting your calories but Diabetes is about more than weight. It’s about how your body deals with sugar which is found in carbohydrates. So you want to watch out for high carb food like bread. LuMalnatti’s makes a crustless pizza! It’s really good. Meat cheese and tomato sauce aren’t bad it’s the crust that’s bad for diabetes. So get the crustless version or get your favorite but don’t eat the crust, or just a few bites of crust. You have to cut calories to lose weight but fat is not your enemy- meat, cheese, and eggs are proteins that have no carbs. 😀 keep up the good work!

Russ I have my first 3.0 letric folder with shifting what’s the best way of going thru the gears 1thru 7 speed is not important to me just enjoying the ride and exercise.

Change gears if you are going up or down inclines or hills. Lower gears for steep hills going up while pedaling and higher gears for level ground if going faster. Use pedal assist levels if you want to pedal and have the motor help you. As you use a higher pedal assist, you will likely want to be in a higher gear to keep up with the motor assisting you.

Ha! It 's usually in 6, not 7! 🙂 The reason I usually put it in 6 is because where I ride, most of my roads are on flat land and not much hills or inclines. I also usually ride around 18 to 22 mph on my ebikes on the streets and I also throttle quite a bit. If I were in a lower gear, I would be either ghost pedaling (where your pedal rotations can even keep up with how fast your motor is taking you) or, I would be spinning the crank so fast just to try not to ghost pedal. I use the lower gears if I am pedaling and have to go up a hill. Makes it easier to climb this way. Lastly, because when I do pedal, I tend to rely a lot on my pedal assist functions. If I want to pedal and also go faster, I just change the pedal assist to a higher number. If I want to go slower, I lower the pedal assist. The pedal assist is what helps decide how much the motor will be helping you. You'll get all this once you get to play with your own ebikes. If you are a person who enjoys pedaling, you'll find the best way for you to go between pedal assist and gear number with your derailleur shifter. Have fun when your bikes arrive. Ride safely!

In that Florida incident there was a 12 year old involved in that unfortunate accident. They show a video with a group of young kids riding fast, heavy ebikes. When the dust settles there I think they need to restrict the age of who can ride an e-bike .

Russ diet sodas have artificial sweeteners in them like aspartame, sucralose, etc. Questionable at best, carcinogenic to humans depending on who you ask 😅 if you are in the mood for a soda try Zevia , its sweetened with stevia and they have lots of classic soda flavors. You should look into keto stuff they use a lot of similar ingredients Liquid Stevia is great sweetener for diabetics i would imagine.

They’re not going to ban Ebikes Russ, so no worries. If anything they are going to require a drivers license and helmet and draft up rules of use so that they can charge for violations. Just another item that the authorities can confiscate if you’re riding under the influence if that’s what is going on. Remember, the authorities auction off any confiscated property, so I’m betting that regulations will be written into laws and insurance is also going to be required. I have my Ebikes under my home owners policy, not that much more of what I pay monthly anyway. I have a drivers license and it says SAFE DRIVER - FLORIDA. On my auto insurance I have my Ebikes added and it’s not that expensive, my policy says Ebike, not which one, just 1 Ebike of my many can be covered under that policy. I’m not worried about any of this, I can understand and accept a few regulations, the Green Movement is on the side of the Ebike, so I’m not a bit worried. Oh, and by the way, I have a heavy duty smart helmet that I bought from Magicycle and it’s impressively durable and has great sensor lighting and if I fall, my helmet sends a call out to 911 call and shares my location. I am glad that safety is an issue and it will be addressed, they won’t be banning Ebikes anytime soon.. trust me! 🙏🏼👍🤗😎

I was really interested in getting this bike but in Britain the max speed for a throttle bicycle is about 3.7 mph (without peddling), which is so slow and make it less fun. So I have to get a peddle e-bike instead. Where I cycle it’s very hilly and I need the boost to go uphill.

I have noticed lately around here, some irresponsible drivers just blow by a stop sign when it is 4 ways or 3 ways stop at a give intersection. incredibly dangerous and specially for cyclists or pedestrians who may expect that vehicle to follow the law and actually stop.

Just an FYI… You stated e-bikes are banned in Florida. They are only banned for 60 days only in Key Biscayne, FL.

Key Biscayne should have already addressed this issue with young children on anything that’s motorized. They are self governing that’s why they could impose that ban for 60 days. It is not a very dangerous place to ride an Ebike, in fact it’s a great place in Florida. I’m sure they will try to set the bar high for who can ride an Ebike on their island. This is common sense to be careful and to not allow minors on anything motorized in Florida.

I found out that you cannot reset the trip meter. Sad, but it can’t be done. Even a factory reset of the display screen will not do it.

Yes, it is the E26. I mentioned the X24 however as another bike that I have with a 24" x 4" tire. I clear that top tube a lot easier on that bike.

@RussIsRight ahh yes! The rare 24x4 format more should follow! I'm not a fan of the X26/ X24 rear "seat" that isn't a seat. Just put a rack there if the pad or bike won't support riders. You said you were on the X26 just at the start of the video. Engwe is a real value proposition. They pronounce it E-gnu ("new") but none of the customers do, lol!
