Shae, after watching so many of your trail riding videos I couldn't stand it any longer. retired for twenty years from riding due to back surgeries I got my nine year old granddaughter and headed to the mountains. we rented two horses and hit the trails. we had so much fun. my past memories flourished and it was like riding a bike, you just never forget how to ride. I will be taking my granddaughter out again real soon. thanks for the push!

I can't get over how the much younger horses have to canter just to keep up with grandma Bagheera's trot! And she looks so elegant while moving, like she's barely putting any effort in. She's like an old master in a martial arts movie telling the hero "you still have much to learn, young one! For I mastered the arts hundreds of years before your parents were born!".

Horses do this by default. They are prey animals so their eyes are on the sides of their heads and work independently from each other. It's a survival advantage in their case to be able to see in opposite directions at the same time .

@goldenseal50 Most Amish buggy horses learn stop sign and light signals. The smartest ones pick it up fast. They also learn traffic patterns and roads too. I can always tell a young horse in training by how they act when our school bus drives by. The color, size, and sound is very scary.

World’s oldest horse is 51 years old called “Shayne” . Bagheera acts very spirited and young at heart. She is so precious, may she have many more Wonderful years ahead of her.

We had a Standardbred from the Amish & he was buggy & riding Horse, he was fast & so sweet. He just went & went. He lived to be 42 years old & still giving rides to little kids. He loved it & was so dissapointed when he wasn’t chosen to go out for a ride. He looked just like Bagheera. 🥰

Bagheera definitely looked very happy being ridden and seeing new places. People are so ill-informed and ignorant that they think older horses can't be ridden. Keeping them active is beneficial if they can do that. I laughed when Bagheera was trotting and Gaston, Beauty and Lightning had to canter to keep up. What a great day with a different scenery, with a nice “pit stop” along the way. Lovely to see Kyle enjoy his ride differently today, yet still be part of the group of horses and riders. I loved seeing the excitement and eager eyes looking at Shae, when she asked Bagheera if she was ok and ready go. It was evident that that awesome mare was truly curious, excited and raring to go! Bagheera is a fast moving horse, always focused on what’s ahead, in tune with her rider Shae, and aware of all that’s around her. Her ears are roving/moving in all directions, constantly, yet she pricks them forward often which helps her see far ahead, understanding what’s coming up, as well as hearing what Shae is saying to her. Bagheera doesn’t spook easily. She is used to being on the road and seeing lots of objects and things that travel roadways. She is a great lead horse. Her age has given her lots of wisdom and her forever home has given her wonderful security, nurturing, affection, attention and plenty of peace and love from her caregivers, as well as many others who come to see her and enjoy her company. She loves her treats too. I think as much as Belle. What a great, beautiful, pleasant day this trail ride was!!! Thanks for sharing your new trail and choosing Bagheera for your ride Shae! Thanks Kyle for being another rider, albeit on bike, and being a supporter, helper and a part of the horse group too! I loved everything about this video share today!! Such a beautiful ride! Bagheera was so awesome! ❤ It looks like everyone had fun! I remember going on a fall ride with 2 other friends. We rode for about 6 hours...with breaks, course. The temps were perfect. And the colors were amazing, just like they were in this video. Walking through the leaves was such a relaxing sound. She moves on her trot! I hear muscles don’t age, we don’t use then instead. Just keep the poundage reasonable for her and she should be fine. My Grandmother danced and danced ( scott Joplin ect) when she was 105. She walked quickly for 50 min every morning. So what is the big deal??? 😂 maybe it is someone who is old - due to lack of exercise- and only 40? Just a baby. It does take effort, and healthy food which is almost impossible to get in the US. ❤

Kudos to Kyle for being Crew, AND for wearing a helmet!👍🙌💪 Years ago a yellow jacket flew up my shorts, stung my inner thigh repeatedly, and I ended up losing control of my bike and doing a very messy endo onto concrete. I broke my wrist and had a concussion, but my helmet saved my brain and skull from more severe injury!
