I really don’t know where you get your energy from!! May I ask what you eat whilst actually riding (not stops) and how often?

I don't really have any set eating patterns, but I typically carry a banana, maybe an energy bar and/or gel, a small pouch of nuts/raisins e.g. Whitworths; possibly a bag of Haribos, on occasion I might carry an apple and usually some kind of cereal bar/wholefood.

Hi ya Richard what overlay do you use for your speed and gradient stats.?

Morning Troy. Good question, one I took a while to find the right solution for. Download the Garmin Virb Edit software. You can then Import any video along with a GPX file e.g. exported from Strava to create the sequence. It's a bit of a PITA and requires some perseverance, but the results are great as you see! Lots of gauges to play around with with too - which is half the fun!

Hi Andrew, I find planning and submitting them a breeze. After I choose the distance and have an idea of elevation all I do is open up Strava Route builder, draw a route, check Kamoot and/or Google Maps for questionable sections. Refactor the route afterwards (or during) to make sure you have some control points/cafe stops every 50-80kms - stick the name of each stop in the description box. Export the GPX, fill in the form, copy and paste the controls, make sure to add a start control. BTW this is the standard procedure for Mandatory DIY. Finish the ride, export the GPX file from Strava attach that to the submission (tracklog) form that you will receive by email and that's it! If that's all a little confusing- I could certainly do a video, but once you've done it a few times it's really easy. Just ignore Advisory DIY unless you want to mess around collecting receipts and working out how to get them in an email!
