Nice one Hero. As an Australian, I enjoyed watching Colin Edwards win the WSB first in 2000 on the VTR1000 SP1 and then in 2002 on the SP2. I know in America you had a different name for these RC51’s. If I could choose I’d be trying to get the bike this one replaced. The RC45. Just loved the sound it produced at full speed down Gardner Straight at Phillip Island at a time when I was also racing and it was my home track on a Suzuki.

An absolutely beautiful, powerful and svelte machine with the worst seat ever known to man

These made 136 hp at the crank at 9,500 rpm and 77 lb-ft at 8,000 rpm. Plus they are only a couple of seconds slower per lap around Phillip Island than any 2024 WSB machine.

Love the RC51, but only have room for 1 bike so I have a CB919. Honda gear driven cams are simply amazing.

At this point is more of an investment / collectable item than a bike

Any Honda with an RC at the start simply means it was made by a completely different team at Honda. The Racing Corporation.
