HAPPY NEW TENDER!! I had a little smile when I saw the ships in Nelson. I visited that port on the MV Rakaia in 1958. The MV Rakaia was 8000 tones gross and at that time the only ship bigger than us to have called into Nelson was the Royal Yacht Britannia. Happy memories, thanks and regards Michael

The calm morning was peaceful and beautiful. Dinner looked like BIG YUM! Congrats on the new tender. It is so nice that I would be nervous leaving it anywhere. Maybe you should put some duct tape on it in an "X" shape here and there and would be thieves will think that leaks have been patched and leave it alone? Have you named it yet? 🙂

We are nervous leaving the tender alone so we bought a stainless steel wire and padlock. I quite like the idea of pretending it's been patched to deter thieves. She is called Cheddar Mai 😁

@@TheSailingBrothers Cheddar Mai ! 😄 I heard about that trick for camping. If you have a nice new extension cord wrap tape on it to make it look like it has been patched many times and the jerks will leave it alone. Boaters are generally good people but you never know who is lurking so locking the Cheddar is a good idea.

Hi Adam Hi Luke, well, those whirlpools demanded close attention, put me in mind of the Corryvreckan, followed by the Channel du four and Raz du Seine. All serious bits of water. I'm so glad to were able to buy another dinghy, bigger the tubes dryer the ride !!!! nice to see a long snubber being employed, anything to take the "snatch" out of the chain. Thanx for showing us the monument denoting the centre of the the country, very stylish in my opinion, looked like a desk pen holder. I used to work for the local Harbour Board in Picton. Once saw a yacht in French Pass being turned 180 degrees by the current. Certainly have to time it right to go through there.

Happens quite often. I was on a boat when the skipper tried going through there but got the tides wrong. Got spat out sideways about the same speed we went in at.

OMG boys, that meal was a horror show!’ Where vegetables??!? 🥗 surely a carrot could have been introduced at least? And the bloody cheese …uh. Whirlpool was exciting - gets your attention, eh? I sent those episode to my brother as inspiration, hauling my 33 foot sailboat out May 3 for a weekend bottom job and hull polish and wax. They aren't in the fiords thoughthey are in the sounds. So it seems abit strange bringing fiordland into it here. Fiordland is further south on the westcoast.

I'm kidding with you I am just an old roofer who in his youth built a 30 ft 9 ton flush deck cutter sailboat and sailed the Sea of Cortez several times with my wife and daughters . I would recommend a good book for you to read about the great Basin in nevada where we built the boat it's called The Great Basin by Donald Grayson if these subjects interest you .
