Riding through DUST TORNADO on Namibian dirt Roads S2EP19

We riding from Betta Campsite to Sesriem (Sossusvlei) through beautiful, but challenging sandy roads in remote Namibia. We go through NamibRand Nature Reserve on the motorcycles where the gravel road becomes littered with sharp loose rocks and it keeps us on our toes for punctures! As we approach Sesriem, the Namibian desert treats us with a large Dust Tornado and it stays on the road! And this is not the only dust storm today...

Soft sand riding on a heavy adventure bike is not for the feint hearted. Wait for slippery mud / clay roads in Zambia and Tanzania (if you are headed that way) it is a whole new ball game of riding. Safe travels further guys, be safe out there.

The gravel roads in the south of Namibia used to be very smooth and well maintained when I was last there but they seem to deteriorate year after year due to lack of maintenance

They are very busy scraping all the roads! I think they do it once a year after all the overseas tourists have left. We noticed that you can only really get an idea of the road in front of you by asking the person that just drove it (last couple of days)
