Great video! The reason a generator car must be used on some trains is because both the DE24000 and the DE33000 are not equipped with HEP (Head-end power) units. This is not the case with more modern Turkish locomotives, but the DE33000 was originally ordered for freight operations.

Nice you were able to choose seating, since one type was much more comfortable. Happy and safe travels.
@Tiborcek7 ай бұрын
6:00 This is something I'll never be able to understand. Why don't they stick to a seat design that is confirmed to be comfortable? Why do the manufacturers insist on their own designs that can be hit or a miss, because they are obviously not testing it enough for comfort. Why do we (people) complicate things unnecessarily?

Great video! But a train driving with an open door is giving me anxiety, as a train driver myself we strictly can't leave if a door is left open on a train with passengers, even if that means blocking the line for hours.

Those TCDD Taurus Express trains look quite modern, isn't it? That said, I can't imagine why I want to sleep on these seats despite being First Class. It's great on shorter trips, but yes, sleeper carriages might be needed on overnight journeys if they offer one. The Taurus Mountains look incredibly stunning! Shame the train named after it used to run to Iraq. TCDD can bring back this service, but due to the economic crisis, I don't think it's coming anytime soon.

Given that the line appears to be electrified the entire length, why were two diesel locomotives used?
@plonss8 ай бұрын
The Turkish railways often do this kind of weird things. The most practical explanation is that they need these two locomotives somewhere else and therefore decided to send them this way or that for some reason no electric locomotives were available.
