@@scotty7663 I dunno, with the prices already, not sure if the $2k will do it…I’m thinking the Tariffs that President Trump will hit them with if they don’t get their asses home, where they belong, rather than using cheap labor…only to have a few parts slapped together in the US, allowing them to call it American made….that will be the nail or nails closing that coffin…not just them, John Deer as well. It’s time our companies come home, focus on employing the people who are your customers, while still making big profits (nothing against someone making a buck) maybe just not as much as they were making…are not only companies like HD and John Deer need to do…but all other companies as well. Time to focus on North America imho, we’ve given away too damn much over the last 3 decades. While China and other eastern Countries (quite frankly who hate us) have profited way too long. I don’t necessarily blame the companies, as they were just using the system to their advantage…it’s our governments who allowed this, changed the laws/rules giving away our resources, manufacturing jobs by the millions for their own agendas and 💰💰💰 ….at our expense…they’re to blame, and now imho enough is enough, and it’s time to correct, fix the damage our politicians have done.

What you seem to be missing on pricing is the entry point. In 2023 the base RG or SG was 22k. 2024 the base entry for a RG or SG already went up 4k to 26k. Forget the options / paint / special / chrome vs black. Harley made the touring entry point way higher. You can’t buy a chrome “standard” anymore for 22k. The dealer walks you to a “base” model for 26k. And that’s for a 24 before the anticipated extra 2k for a 25…. I’ve owned a bunch of Harley’s over the past 25 years. Mostly under a year old used and saved multiple thousands on each bike. Bought a couple brand new and it’s just not worth the dealer battles. Never again. I’ve also owned several other brands and currently have a German ADV after buying and selling a Pan America. Harley is killings themselves imo producing bikes with issues, horrible inconsistencies and QC, and terrible warranty service imo. The aftermarket is really the only thing that keeps me riding Harley’s at this point.

Your Point # 1: introducing the 2024 SG & RG at $2000 lower price was a mistake. It certainly did not help improve sales. That money should have been used to offer 1.9% financing, or $2500 parts, service & accessories, or maintenance free for 3 -4 years or extended warranty or cash rebate if not financing. They just gave away promotional incentive money with no sales increase in return. Did the $2000 lower price really excite you to buy your new bike or was it the free handle bars and install that got you excited. What if dealer would have offered you the $2000 more on your trade in? Limited time offers always get people to buy now, lower suggested list price do nothing to excite people. Most of all, every owner of pre-2024 model took a hit on the resale value of their bikes. But hey, I don’t have sales experience with running shoes so what do I know about motor sales.

I’m 40. I’m riding Honda’s and Triumph and Suzuki motorcycles. I’ve spent close to $40k for all three bikes which would get me one dumbass Harley. The Breakout is their best bike. To be fair, At $20k, it’s a bargain.

Without structural changes at the "Motor" Company that bring it back towards its roots, the 2025 MY will be its last. F Jochen, F the 40 engine variants, FVVT, FCVO.

Rediculous having European CEOs ...Obvious with Harley... Take a look at Stellantis, now also destroying Jeep

How about a 121 on a non CVO?.... That would be the upgrade I'd want on maybe an ST... I'd probably be a buyer.....Would like to be able to do a 135 kit without buying CVO
@RidingintheOzarks3 күн бұрын
You can put a 135 in a non CVO. I don’t see 121 in anything but a CVO till they give the CVO something bigger, they may make CVO st models like the RG they made in 24
@frankfurther38283 күн бұрын
why
@RidingintheOzarks3 күн бұрын
@@frankfurther3828 they traditionally keep the larger engine size for CVO models to help justify the cost of CVO models

@@RidingintheOzarks what does more displacement get you that can't be had by any other big twin besides conversation?

They should make the rev max in Taiwan
