Bull that they cant make and sell it at an affordable price. If Yamaha can build, ship, and pay import duties on the MT 09 and sell them at 10,000 in the USA Harley can do it. Aprilia builds and sells affordable Italian made sports bike. Harley just want ridiculous margins.

Harley could fix a lot of problems by: 1) scrap the Livewire, Nightster and sportster s. 2) Make the Bronx 3) Bring back the real sportsters and a springer deluxe. 4) keep the limited touring models. 5) Lower prices by 10%.

@ the difference is no one is buying the bikes in suggested they scrap. Don’t believe me? Search any Harley dealer group for new 2023 models. You will find the overwhelming majority to be - you guessed it - Nightster, sportster s and pan America.

Ja-zh5xi sounds like you should be in H-D's planning department. The Springers are gone because they weren't selling well. The Sportsters went as far as they could go. What else could they do with them? I agree with you on the Sportster S. It was a mistake. But that's not the first one that they have made over the years. (Deuce, Rocker and others) Unfortunately, the CEO and the board are way out of touch with the consumer. Price has always been high with Harleys. I own a 1971 Electra Glide. That bike was around $2500.00 new. (About $20,000.00 in today's money)

Instead of making the Bronx, Harley made a bad decision and put out the Nightster. All they had to do was put that 975 engine into a naked-style chassis. You mean they couldn't offer one - just one bike that wasn't a cruiser? If Indian can do it, why couldn't they? I'm telling you, the Bronx would have had a cult following just like the SV650 had back in the day. Of course, it wouldn't be any faster than the SV, and it would be heavier and not as nimble. But it would have been their first naked sports bike for the American market and it would have sold well if it cost no more than the Nightster. I have yet to see one Nightster on the road. What a terrible decision.
@DesertCoyote-t5k
@DesertCoyote-t5k 8 сағат бұрын
I agree. Aside from my first motorcycle, which was a Yamaha. I have ridden Harley’s all my life. When I saw the Bronx concept I was sold and ready to buy. Unfortunately they made a big mistake by not producing the Bronx. Now I ride a Triumph Street Triple 765 and couldn’t be happier. 9995.00 MSRP R model. In light of Harley Davidson‘s woke policy and failure to keep up with the times, I am hesitant to ever buy another Harley Davidson.

agreed. the Nightster just reminds me of the XG and the XG had potential but they dropped the ball on it and went with piss poor quality... it takes some work but now alotta of us are taking the XG platform and making them naked streetfighters for much cheaper. ive got a 2015 im screwing with now but if im honest, id happily drop the money on the Honda Hornet SP or Yamaha MT its a shame really.

Hope you reach 50K man, you deserve it, excellent content over the years. I'm thinking they may decrease suspension travel and put 17" wheels on the new Pan Am to make more of a roadster and also more accessible to shorter riders thus circumventing the Bronx issue. As sad as it is, I think you're absolutely right about the Bronx, HD cannot compete with the MT 09 in terms of pricing.

Interesting video , looking at the image of the Breakout, the headlight certainly appears to be round rather than ovel which is a good thing , it also looks like they may have updated the instruments, if that is the case then that would again be a welcome change as the current instrument display is really difficult to read when on the move.

Indian scout line-up would have competition if they did. thanks for the review.

I'm 72 and started out on a Sportster in 1974 then went to a ShovelHead SuperGlide quickly, now on a 03 hotRod Dyna. When I hear guys say they should get rid of the Rev Max motor and bring back the old Sportster it piss's me off. Keep refining the big twin and keep refining the RevMax. I happen to like the Nightster, I rode one because I was curious. Get rid of the Sportster S, that thing is ugly, and make a street version of the Hooligan race bike. Also start drag racing the RevMax.

Harley Fucked up bigtime with the Bronx. The rider that wants a well spec’d big naked muscle bike is not the younger guy looking for a $12-15k bike. Harley shot themselves in the foot by telling everyone that this was going to get the smaller version of the Revolution Max engine….. making it an 8 or 900cc bike means positioning it in the “middleweight” market these days… Yes, that means you are competing for sales with excellent bikes like the MT-09 and Street Triple for that $12-15k range. They should have kept it as a 1250, gave it all the electronics the Panamerica has, spent a little more on fit and finish, give it maybe 10hp more than the Panamerica and it would be a legitimate contender for guys who are looking hard at bikes like the Indian FTR’s, the Triumph Speed Triples, Tuono V4’s etc. Those are older riders with a little discretionary spending money and know what they want. Get the power in the right ballpark, give it the same electronics and rider aids that all big bikes have now, and make it look good….. it’s not that hard. If Indian can do it with even less power, so can Harley.

I have said from its release that Harley missed the target with the Pan America that they needed to make a naked flat tracker inspired model to directly compete with Indian's FTR model. There are tons of younger riders that want machines made by American companies that they can build hooligan bikes out of and the FTR has fit that bill in most respects. Yes having the Bronx would be the ticket but with how greedy Harley is with its pricing it would never sell. The last hooligan machine that was Harley built was the Buell XB 9s and the XB 12s. If you ever rode one of these machines you would understand that for those wanting a sport naked that you could stunt and just rip around on and weren't worried about top speed and 1/4 mile times, these bikes had torque for days unrivaled handling and were American made. Now days the only option in the price range is the FTR or buy a metric like an MT 07, 09 etc. Harley is quickly alienating the generation of riders that will keep the company significant moving forward and have priced them out of obtainium for that consumer base. Sure Buell is making what people ultimately want but again it is at unobtainium niche pricing. The thing that I do like about Buell is that they do not have huge amounts of electronic rider aids and are more like the performance machines of eras gone by where you ride a machine by the seat of your pants and the feedback that you processed not a computer. Again these are hand built machines with pricing that reflects custom shop builds making them a limited consumer base accessible. We need more American sport focused machines at competitive pricing and unfortunately under its current management, Harley is never going to fill that void.

Looking at the 2025 HD's that 80's song by the Vapors "Turning Japanese" keeps running through my head. 🎶🎶 "I think I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so" 🎶🎶 Nothing I've seen so far makes me even remotely interested in trading in my 2016 Ultra Limited. I guess they have to try and cater to a younger crowd who equate tech and computers with with being cool. Us old geezers that has been on HD's for 50+ years are fading out at an alarming rate, so they have to find a new customer base with the YamaHonSaki crowd.

@BorisBlade7
@BorisBlade7 15 сағат бұрын
The bronx could be profitable and quite competitive at 15-16k (could be more, dont know the exact details of this bike, 18k could be fine too) if they give it the full 150hp of the pan am, they choose not to do it because they cant gouge consumers who buy those like they do normally to cruiser buyers. Also the prices of some bikes went down because their sales are tanking. They had a 40% drop in sales year over year. Dealers arent taking any new models because they cant sell the old ones. Corporate plans were to not do new bikes (like the bronx etc) to fix their shrinking market and instead decided to up the prices on everything from bikes, to plans, to parts, to service. They now make double profit from each sale and all associated with it, but it still wont be enough if they just stick to their old ways. (and this gouging just drives new riders away even more) they desperately need to get some wider bike variety, and need some cheaper bikes to bring in newer riders and cheaper bikes that arent cruisers. The Bronx could be great, as would a smaller pan am(all the stuff the previous CEO was doing), and see where it goes from there. They have great engineers and designers, but terrible corporate focused on short term gains ignoring long term failure. And unfortunately obnoxious core buyers who get angry when Harley tries to add other bikes or try to do something different for once like it would somehow make all the cruiser bikes catch fire if they added a naked bike, or other styles, that insanity needs to stop. My vote is to branch out, fill out the line up with more styles, and some cheaper bikes for beginners. They already brand some starter bikes in other countries as Harley, but they are made by another company entirely. Do somethin like that or design their own and have it made in india to cut costs like many companies do and bring that to the US. Great bike manufacturers there. When your avg FIRST time harley buyer is 44 and your core buyers are all dying off, you gotta do something different to get new riders. Again, 40% loss in sales in just one year and it was already low. They wont last long if they just keep doing what they are now.

The problem with you kids that think you need race suspensions on street bikes is that you can't define what "best" means. Best for what? The front suspension on my Road King is wonderful for long brisk rides on real streets. It is the Showa dual bending valve thingy. It is supremely comfy and I've ground the boards to a knife edge with them. The rear shocks aren't much to speak of, but the 3" stock bouncers aren't terrible. I replaced mine with Legends and there was a bit of improvement over smaller bumps, but it was a pretty marginal improvement for the money to my mind. I've ridden my share of bikes with Ohlins and the damn things are sprung about as nicely as a hardtail chopper. Great for racing around a finely manicured Euro racetrack. Utter garbage riding on public roads. Someone did a vid and admitted that after riding the upside down forks on the CVO against the stock bike Glides, the CVO felt twitchy and insecure. Stop buying the hype. You think HDs are expensive now, wait until they have to buy overpriced Italian race components for all the people who want to tour. And if they know what they're doing, they'll want to change them for cheaper forks. That said, Polaris suspension feel better mainly because they have more travel and are less likely to bottom out over bigger bumps.

!00% certain it's a different headlight on the Breakout in the photo you show. It's a different shape in every dimension and put together differently, no question. I personally never liked the headlight on the Breakout, so such a change would be welcomed by me at any rate. As to the veracity of this picture, any element of the image could be photoshoped in - including the people; so their presence in the image doesn't really mean anything in terms of the truth factor of the image.

Two things that screw the breakout for me is that disgusting plastic shit headlight and that f@#%k shit digital gauge .. the rest is perfect. But those two points kill it for me at least.

The German guy running Harley is well on his way to destroying the brand. The thought that they could not make the Bronx profitable is absurd. They just don't want to actually put in the effort to do so.

Why do Harley only fit single discs to models like the breakout and fat boy. Would have thought due to the weight it would have twins.

Scrap the breakout, its too much of a early 2000s lame OCC vibe. 70s style choppers are much more appealing. Scrap the Breakout for a new Wide Glide-esque model

I'm not a fan of it either but people still go crazy for it. The Euro market it does much better than US. I wasn't very nice in my review of it and it's still by far my most watched video of all time. Crazy.

Rubbish regarding the Bronx pricing. That would sell at those prices. They just need to make the damn thing and see it sell.

Harley's are crap bikes. They just go in a straight line. You don't need bleeding ohlins, just a proper gas suspension

In my opinion, especially because they went down that political route and they went down the wrong side. I think it would be stupid of them to jump the price up $2000.

FWIW, the reason the Road Glide handles so well is because Erik Buell designed the frame.

Suspension was upgraded in 24. Ohlins has been available for awhile. Get off your cross. You won't see much change in the softail line up. Colors will be it. Why not a wet head Road King? Moving Rev Max to Thailand will kill it. Now get rid of JZ!

Öhlins is the best suspension on the market, hands down. No other manufacturer even comes close to Öhlins excellens. Harley and Öhlins sims like a perfect partnership to me, i mean that's a no brainer. Öhlins also referred to as "Swedish Gold." Always go for GOLD! No 1!
