Holy crap. When you pulled out of your garage, it brought back such memories! You see, I grew up here in Michigan, but move to the Denver area, when I was 26. My first apt. Was on Belleview, just west of Broadway. I actually knew where you were at before you even entered 285. I used to take 285, through, South park, into Frisco, almost weekly! I had good friends that lived in Indian Hills, up Parmalee gulch. One time I came around a curvr up parmalee, face to face, with the biggest, 9x9 bull elk , I have ever seen to this day! Just standing in the road, without a care in the world. Also, love the A.T.F. country store!

@@ridingshotgun1251 what's crazy is, the years I lived there, all I did was explore. Yet, I met, so many people, who were born and raised there, that had never even left Denver, and gone to the mountains! It shocked me. That beauty, just beyond your doors, clearly visible. Yet, you have, not enough curiosity, to leave your comforts, and find out for your self?

When drivers annoy you, think of the poor souls who spend their days in windowless rooms, in grey cubicles, have to punch time clocks, eat out of vending machines, with supervisors watching every move. U R blessed.

Oh Mike!! You have more patience than me. Nothing ticks me off worse that idiots that won't maintain a speed or keep hitting their brakes for no reason whatsoever. They are so RUDE!! They could pull off and let traffic pass since they seem to have no concerns about their fuel mileage or travel time. Really irks me when it messes up my fuel mileage. Now that I can no longer work and am on a set small income, I do without so I can still do road trips, but they mess up my budget when the lousy mindless drivers are on the road. I need more patience like you. Safe travels Mike and hugs to all those grandchildren (I'm ahead of you, I have several GREAT-grandbabies. LOL!)

I was raised in California but when I was a flight attendant I lived in Roanoke, Virginia against the Blue Ridge mountains. My speed varied simply because I wasnt used to driving mountains and sometimes, you have to go 2 - 3 miles before you can pull over. And i'll tell you what i'll never do...drive a mountain road I'm not familiar with going 55 or 65 mph.

This is a beautiful ride, I can't say I don't blame these people for driving slower to look at the beauty. You should honk at them so they will know it is bothering you. If someone was to honk at me, I would pull over. You better not get stressed over this...you will end up like Bernie Sanders and have stints put in. When you are stressed think about your beautiful grandbabies. They are the perfect age. I enjoyed watching my grandkids when they were young. One we watched all the time as his mom was a single mom and worked grave shift. My husband's ex watched him too, but we generally got the weekends. Which we didn't mind as we took him to different things , the Science Academy in SF, gold panning in Coloma, CA, and Bodega Bay, CA. Now they are all teenagers with minds of their own. We invite them out to help us with chores (hardly anything....We just want to teach them responsibility) and we will pay them. $5 to push the lawn mower a few times isn't work. For them anything is work. So they don't come visit us anymore..maybe 2 times in a year. Enjoy your grandbabies while you can.

34:54 re: Your expressions of frustrations with drivers changing speeds and, especially, dropping speeds quite unnecessarily. Yes, my friend, you are not the only driver who gets frustrated by such drivers. When you have a schedule to keep, such behaviour by others is especially annoying. Having said that, I SOMETIMES drive scenic routes and wish to "dawdle along" to enjoy the scenery or just for sheer safety (some drivers wish to go flat-tack no matter what the road conditions). OK. So I dawdle sometimes -- but I watch my rear mirror and pull over and indicate to any traffic that has come up behind me to get past -- I check for suitable locations and lack of contrary traffic. It is amazing how little traffic will actually overtake unless I have my left turn indicator on (yes, we drive on the left here in New Zealand) to make it pretty clear to them that they need to go. Slowing down further to make it easier for them to overtake sometimes does little, believe it or not!
@oldlady62295 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. Here in CA the law (if I remember correctly) is if there 5 vehicles behind you, you need to pull over to let them pass. I know I couldn't drive on the left side of the road like you in New Zealand.
@ridingshotgun12515 жыл бұрын
Yes I get a little flustered sometimes when im working.. but I did let it go.. I do have a problem with changing speeds.. don't care if people go slow.. it's the speed up slow down that gets me going..

Riding Shotgun there are many drivers who will slow down on a corner. It doesn’t matter at what speed they are approaching the corner, they see a corner and they will slow down. Then they see a straight and will speed up. Really annoying.

I know a GREAT CURE, from Mother Nature, to cure the Silly Season. About late September, let's hope that there are hurricane straight-line blows, that hold for about two weeks, maybe more, without relent. That will strip all of those golds and scarlets right off, even if there is considerable windthrow. Some of the snowflakes will weep over this.
