I think 1492 was Ridley’s last “Ridley Scott film”. I wish he hadn’t gone to the mainstream but he apparently had his reasons. Anyone who hasn’t heard the soundtrack should check it out.

@@jnunopmarques Oh, hell yes. It stands on its own and the last two songs leave it up to the imagination about the first journey that is sort of cut short in the film.

@@jnunopmarques It’s more of a companion to the film rather than a soundtrack. Those last two songs aren’t in the film. I imagine them to be what it was like at dusk or at night sailing bravely into the unknown.

Disappointing movie but it looked great. Thought Depardieu was slightly miscast too. Think if Ridley had made it more recently (post Gladiator) he would have knocked it out the park
