This entire thing has become a mess. They should just have it that the engineers found xeno eggs billions of years ago and they have no idea how they were created, but the xenos were a species so perfect that the engineers have been trying to copy them for eons and have never succeeded. I completely agree. I recently saw a post which described Sir Ridley as the ''God of Alien''. Well I'm sorry but he fucking well is not. Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett wrote the story, may Dan O'Bannon rest in peace, and anything and everything that was added afterwards is just icing on the cake (or not, in many cases). I'll admit Sir Ridley made an excellent job of directing Alien, it wouldn't be so famous now if he hadn't. But that doesn't give him any more right than anyone else to further the story arc. It's a disappointment when the latest movie, Alien Romulus, is lauded as being the best instalment in a long, long time when it owes so much to the original movie, alien pathogens notwithstanding. Don't misunderstand me, I really enjoyed Romulus. Alvarez did a brilliant job. I'm just glad Scott got no closer to it than he ultimately did.

And one has to consider that not everyone follows the Alien saga as much as some of us nerds, they don't necessarily know the lore and/or care. No blame there, it's personal taste. But, without running the risk of over-stressing a point hopefully, the general public and critics see any movie with a Xenomorph in it and label it under the same franchise label as all the rest. So, regardless of the director/writer/stars, if it's crap then it taints the rest. Then you end up with Alien nerds like myself posting endless comments and even I'm getting bored. Make it stop! 🙂

Bear in mind that Ridley was 42 in 1979 (which, oddly, is my age now, and he clearly seemed less jaded then than I am now), and that isn't the same Ridley at 86. Also, his brother's death (arguably a better director, too :/) did a number on him. Also, Cameron took his spooky haunted house in space monster film and 80s action man'ed it thus staked it into popular culture. The problem is now that people think giving the reigns to Ridley and away from the corpos that milked it the franchise will get back on track forgetting he's an old fart now obsessed with the meaning of life and death which is gonna show in his art. It should have been handed to Neill Blomkamp but the corpo milkers thought bolting Ridley's name on it would boost earnings but what we got was a great Ridley film but a ballbag Alien film with fingering androids trying to a better God than its creator! An idea they should have let him explore in Blade Runner instead of making him do Alien. I know I'm not speaking for myself when I say people want a follow-up to Aliens, not Alien! Space Marines vs Xenos based on the foundation of Cameron's film, not Ripley. Hell, I'll even compromise and say make the things actually bloody Lovecraftian scary again with the Marines losing their minds trying to face off this cosmic horror when shooting it doesn't work and not Jason X with guns and stupid people!

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree just because there's been a space marine glut of some super soldier shooting space insects like 40K and StarCraft I'm not suggesting that. Nobody wants a starship troopers clone. You could easily have a story following Hicks and him dealing with PTSD on a level similar to the film such as Jacob's ladder or in the mouth of madness and it still could be an action movie. The comics have actually touched onto that. Scott confirmed 3 very specific things years ago, not long after the Fox take over, to be precise. 1) David did not create the alien, he simply copied what the people on Planet 4 had done. 2) The people on Planet 4 were not Engineer's and their planet was not Paradise. 3) Space Jockey's and Engineer's are not the same thing, one created the other and they were trying to mimic their creator.

I’ve said this multiple times, all they gotta do is just go boom, xenomorph planet exists. It’s been established in AVP lore (though I'm well aware AVP isn't canon to the Alien franchise) and it explains itself enough. Also technically David just made his own xenomorph and didn’t actually create the species which something that is understandably confusing because the whole prequel theme is origin and creation. Edit: Feel like I have to put this because people keep saying AVP isn't canon which I'm very aware of. I'm saying that the concept should also be applied to this franchise because it's a simple way to tell us enough without telling us too much and still keeps a good amount a mystery.

Thanks for the vid zaffy! Excellent ideas as always! I can’t help but recommend Kroft talks movies. He’s gone into the script for Prometheus and revealed quite a bit. For example, there seems to be this idea that the juggernaut from Alien will return? According to the scripts and the novel Aliens river of Pain, that thing has been sitting there for 2000 years pre Prometheus events. The hologram engineers even talk about it when David 8 is sitting in the big chair. They were taking off when one was infected and initiated quarantine protocols.

I disagree on two points. The Space Jockey from 1979 Alien movie is NOT the same as an Engineer from Prometheus, he's like TWICE (or more) the size as an Engineeer, he is a GIANT. The other point is that Ridley never liked the idea of an Alien Queen (from Cameron's Aliens) which is why Fede showed an alternative way for xenomorphs to create new life, just like Ridley had in a deleted scene from the original movie. NO QUEEN(S) in the next Ridley film.

Some one should ask R Scott or any other subsequent hack who mentions 'Engineers' to spend 5 minutes watching the original Alien (1979) and particularly the scenes when the landing crew of the Nostromo enters the Space Jocky cockpit / flight deck. People, these are NOT the same creature as the Engineers. Period! 1. The Space Jocky has a MASSIVE body -easily 3-4 times the size of a human / 2 times of the 'engineer' 2. The dimensions of the body parts (arms, legs, torso, head and face) are all different 3. The creature is also mechanoid like the ship & Xenomorph 4. The creature is elephantine in form - specially head & face 5. The Creature was not wearing an exoskeleton but his body is biomechanical and links with the chair 6. The Anatomy & physiology are obviously not human / humanoid (head has no helmet but clearly has a trunk) 7. There was never any sign of nor any use for the moronic cheap & lazy plot element that is the 'Black Goo'. 8. The Space Jocky and the Juggernaut (Space Derelict) are ancient - fossilized (1000s years before WY timeline) 9. The origins of humanity: Engineers, Black Goo evolution were copy-paste and used as plot fillers. When you don't have skilled Sci-Fi authors then you are forced to use lame writers and idiot script writers to hash out some kind of story to sell your movie. Both the Human Origins and the Black Goo were shameless and lazy rip off ideas from 2001: A Space Odyssey, and The X-Files, respectively. The original Alien had not connection with this quasi mythical / qualsi religious mumbo jumbo, David, and needing to search for our creators..... The original Alien story was a Sci-Fi Masterpiece that was created by Dan O'Banon et al and fleshed out by the genius artist Giger. It would seem that R Scott wanted ro trash the Alien franchise to spite himself, and to spite J Cameron for making the original second classics. The Alien franchise has unfortunately been irreversibly fouled beyond recognition, and for that reason, I consider that the Alien Trilogy ended with Alien 3. Alien 4 (resurrection) was OK and had Sigorney Weaver in it anyway. It would need to be thought of as a VR Simulacra (simulation) done by scientists in the the future or some alternate reality /alternate dimension / or as an AI-induced dream of some sort. My Only hope is that, they reveal The SOURCE of The Material that The Engineers "Spliced" it from. Say... An Un-Edited/Tweaked EVOLVED Xenomorph Specimen/Species, that ISN'T Animalistic.. but fully Conscience, Aware and Intelligent. An easy explanation to the xenomorph origin that fits with most of the in universe details is that the key ingredient to the pathogen was harvested from xenomorphs that the engineers found out in the galaxy somewhere, that's why a type of xenomorph is always the end result whenever the pathogen is used. Nice and simple and mostly fits.

Just wipe Prometheus, wipe Covenant. No David. Go back to one of two original story lines: a) Where the xenomorphs were created by 2 ancient warring alien factions who decided to no longer send their people to die, so they made these biomechanical creations and used them to kill each other. Whoever had the most xenomorphs at the end would win. Unfortunately their creations said "bish, you thought." b) An ancient, super advanced alien race allowed themselves to be so dependant on technology that over the years, they became so dependant on it over millions of years, to the point they no longer even needed to think, they devolved into their base instincts (mate, kill, feed, repeat), that they became the xenomorphs.

The space jockey has been dead for thousands of years by the time the nostromo gets to it. David and Elizabeth Shaw mimics HR Giger's first wife they both loved and created something disturbing I think if they make a sequel to covenant that they won't use any of the original actors, by the time a script is put forward and casting all that jazz it'll be 10 years since covenant was released.

The Xenomorph should not have a clear origin because it’s one of the aspects of the alien creature that made it so terrifying in the first place with that fear of the unknown that has always frightened us in Horror. I don’t count the Prometheus films as lore and Ridley Scott is a great cinematographer but not a good consistent storyteller as it pains me to say this because my all-time favourite film is Blade Runner. I think the guy in this video really desperately wants to believe in the Prometheus lore so much you can hear it in his voice and it doesn’t matter if Ridley Scott does make his final prometheus film or not at least half of the Alien fandom are not gonna accept it as lore either way. I think the concept of Prometheus could’ve made a great original IP completely detached and nothing to do with the Alien franchise at all if Ridley Scott and his fellow writers really took a stab at it before it’s release back in 2012

Ripley (Ridley? Hmm) wakes up screaming. Newt is standing next to her pod eating cereal and Highs sticks head out from the bathroom with a fresh nick on his chin. They roll their eyes as Ripley rolls out of bed, disoriented until she remembers they on a military ship headed to the Xenomorph Homeworld to wipe out the Xenos. Its a harsh inhospitable world, dark and barren, with hives everywhere. They encounter a number of vicious creatures, but nothing like the Xenos. They discover there is a single montrous Queen who only produces other Queens. They battle their way through the hives and in the end, kill the Queen. As they are returning to their ship they learn that the Xenos aren't the apex predator, that there is something even worse.

I don't fully reject your concept, but I think making Daniels become the Goddess Xeno is way to much like Kerrigan becoming the Queen of Blades for the Zerg in StarCraft. I think the more interesting route would be that David figures out how to create the Queen Xeno to solve the "self-replication" problem that the Engineers have by harvesting Daniels and the colonists aboard the Covenant to create a mad "floating hive" so to speak that the Engineers stumble upon early in the film, and just scrap the Goddess concept. I also like the concept of the Engineers "worshipping" and creating a religion around the Xenos, very Dead Space and I like it and it gives perfect motivation for David to create the "perfect" organism to spite them.

These ideas are not bad but I think, esp if he wants a proper return to his vision, we deserve a TON more emphasis on the Engineers. Probably enough to warrant them appearing in the lore alot more. As it stands, it seems their entire race is killed off, or at least MIA in the future. Cannon holds no weight for me anymore so bringing these aliens to the forefront is not a big deal. So, instead of Daniels being involved, I'd MUCH prefer David to get straight into dealing with (multiple sects of) the engineers directly. Shaw had a way better chance of surviving, but with Daniels already trapped in cryo there is no way she doesnt suffer the same fate.

3:53 David making the Xenos will already be debunked/retcon'd by Alien: Earth having xenos a few years before the Prometheus has even left for LV-223 (personally, I never accepted that he created them, just .ade them from the Engineer's old family recipe with a few 'adjust to tadte' changes 😂). In fact, I think they'll go with the Alien predation the Engineers as well, and that they distilled the pathogen from those xenos in the first ace. This was heavily hinted at in Prometheus and again in Romulus. EDIT: LOL, if I had waited, I'd have heard you addressed the TV show.

The problem is that they just need to decide what direction they’re gonna go and stick to it. If they’re gonna go the whole black goo, and engineer origin story direction then just commit to it and finally explain all of that to us instead of sprinkling little pieces of it in the last few movies, but then never expand on it anymore, which just makes the whole origin story stuff confusing as hell. I think it would be cool to see an Alien movie where it’s not just a bunch of people running from the Alien on a spaceship 🚀 and a female ends up being the lone survivor hero

Shaw was killed off because. The actress wanted to leave Alien covenant. Then came back. Killing Shaw was pay back. I'm happy for everyone that likes pernicious story line. I don't like it. Nice fantasy. I got a simple one. The first part is good. Part two. Daniel’s gets captured on the engineers with David and then they were kept in two separate chambers and then one instant. They are speaking a old form of ancient English. They are planning to go to earth and finish the job. Somehow she breaks free. She finds David. She tells David convinces David to come to his census example. Like what would Charles do? He wouldn’t like his son letting his home die. David change his heart goes into the one of the engineers lab, and this turns into a cat and mouse in the end. David produce his perfect organism, a royal face hugger, David and Daniel‘s die in the end. The engineer that killed him is flying to ship the Royal egg hatches attaches to the engineer and then it cuts off and then goes up. The engineer is giving birth to the queen chest, Brester, then cuts off again, then goes back on again. It shows a ship crashing to LV planet then goes to another clip. The queen is laying her eggs and then cuts forward again to alien one trucker ship, computer screen, pops up signal, and later on make another movie based on the book, alien the river of pain, the prequel of Hadley’s. Hope keep it simple.

The entire concept of the queen alien needs to be retired already. It was good in Aliens. It also worked for Alien 3. That was enough. The series need to go "back" to ovomorphing, the ultimate form of body-horror, turning living human (or other beings) slowly into eggs. I am so glad we didn't see a queen in Romulus. Also how David seems to have created the eggs in Covenant. The xenomorphs shouldn't be treated like a hive of insects. They are intelligent biomechanical killing machines.

Too inefficient. That would mean you need two hosts to produce a single alien. I think the hive resin itself should break down cocooned bodies, and produce eggs like a plant
