Hi Chris. Fantastic review of the R&M Charger 3. I have decided to go electric and have now ordered the Charger 3. From Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In Brisbane we are blessed with great bike paths, so I am looking forward to an easier commute to work each day. I love your KZbin channel. I have learnt so much!

Hey Anthony, how has your charger3 been? And have you left your biked unattended here in brissy? Eg. Cafe, groceries etcc. Im based in brissy too and deciding between nevo3 and charger3. Was initially thinking of the tinker but i realised for longer rides like 20km the bigger wheels are probably better. Keen to hear your thoughts on riding r&m in brissy. Cheers ps. Chris at propel we love your caps do you sell them ? :)

Hi Joel. The Charger 3 is great around Brisbane. Great range with 625wh battery. I don’t leave it out of eyesight if riding and at a cafe etc. I have an ABUS folding alarm lock. Enjoy your new bike when you get it. Regards. Anthony.

@@anthabr cheers. If you don't mind me asking, how much kilometers are you typically getting from a full charge? And do you have the kiox or the nyon display? Did you get yours from electric bikes brisbane? :)
@anthabr
@anthabr 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joel. I went for the Nyon display. The range depends on the mode you ride in and the number of hills. With a combination of economy and touring only, I am getting around 120km from a single charge. Yes. I ordered through Electric Bikes Brisbane.

Would you say it’s possible to use the 45NRTH Wrathchild studded tires on this bike? I know they’re 2.6" wide, but there seems to be a good chuck of clearance there. Maybe the lock would be an issue when mounting them?

The Charger 3 is the e-bike I have been waiting for the last 2 years. I dipped my finger into the e-bike water a few years ago when I purchased a Tinker HS. The most positive aspects about the Charger 3 is the Generation 4 Bosch motor. The reduction drag is gone and according to the review it rides much more efficiently over 21 mph. Torgue is also increased from 63 newton meters to 75. The motor is also smaller & more integrated into the frame. Finally, I like the powertube and its integration into the frame. Of course these are my opinions

Hello, 1st i need to ask about Homage GT vario, i am 180 cm height and i dont know which the suitable frame size for me 54 or 58 cm? and for what purpose can use this RX chip is it to track the bike in case i lost it ? and which tire is good for long journey in the street is it Schwalbe super moto-x 62 or Schwalbe rock razor 60? can i add shopping double bag(cargo bag) at the back and is there any issues maybe it will touch the wheel? about charger3 mixed GT vario, what it mean heavy duty package? what is the difference between the charger3 mixed GT vario and charger mixed GT vario? and because charger mixed GT vario only have biggest frame is 49cm is it small for me ? what is the difference between the motor in the above models the Performance Line CX (Gen2) and Performance Line CX (Gen4)? and for the above models can i add the double cargo bag so it will not touch the tire? what is the high security to do when i put the bike in the street ? for the anti theft lock can i add ABUS Bordo Alarm 6000A/90cm black instead of ABUS shield for charger mixed GT Vario? Thanks

It would be interresting to compare this bike to other similar ones, by example Kalkhoff Endeavour 7.B Belt, which has similar configuration (belt and Enviolo) and similar price, some aspects that seem better (625W battery) or worse (no wheel size option, no front rack option, rear rack with less weight capacity)... Gear ratio of this Enviolo Charger 3 seems far too high for the non HS version.
@Propelbikes

I hope to do more comparisons later this season. I still have a long list of bikes that I need to review and I can compare after. Kalkhoff isn't available in the US so I doubt I will do that one, but this is great feedback. The bike in test was the non-HS version and I found the gear ratio to be great for my liking.

As always a great review. Quality content right here. I had the honor to build this bike for the last few weeks. I really love it so far. Especially the mixte like it is shown in this video. Since I am a smaller person I didn't quite like the standard Charger. I am still not sure though if I buy the Charger3 Mixte or go big and sporty and buy the Delite Mountain. I am also amazed by the positive standing R&M has in the states. In germany it does not have the best standing if u read the comments under german reviews. I wonder why that is.

Thanks! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. I’ve been riding the Charger3 a lot lately. I really like it. Regarding the position, I think it’s just a matter of how the dealers work with them and their customers. If you have a shorter commute on smoother roads maybe the Charger3. Thanks from Belgium for this nice presentation! I bought one GT yesterday, for a probably 60% on/40% off road usage. It was quite difficult to find THE perfect mix, and to choose between available bikes (very few actually, the final other option was a Moustache Xroad 5, maybe better balanced for bot usages, but non available before March 2022 or so). We'll see what Charger 3 will bring, but your video reassured me a lot!

Hi Chris, I think that there is really a problem with the new Riese and Muller assembly system for the Bosch Powertube batteries (that big rubber part). I mean all 2020 models are concerned. I am facing such problem because my Supercharger2 has been deliverd to me with one faulty battery (i.e. not working at all). In such case R and M ask me to deal directly with Bosch. This is what I did but R and M didn't answer to another very important question: who is responsible of unmouting and mounting that rubber adapter. They just told me by email that the risk is very high to destroy that adapter when unmounting it. Have you some experience in your shops of such technical operations ? One day every owner of a RM 2020 bike will face this issue when replacing a battery will be necessary. Best regards
@Propelbikes
@Propelbikes 5 жыл бұрын
Sid, this is good feedback. I think you should request that the dealer get a new one from R&M to mount on the battery. I also noticed that it’s not easy to remove it and I think the only way is to install a new one. I believe the dealer is responsible and the dealer should get support from R&M on that.
@sidlabdi
@sidlabdi 5 жыл бұрын
@@Propelbikes Thank's for your comment. This is my situation now. A new battery is on the way and sent by Bosch directly. Today, I asked RM how to unmoun/mount the rubber adapter. The answer that I got make me speechless. They ask the dealer to "try" to unmont the adapter with potentialy a risk to damage it..and if that happens, the dealer should contact RM to get a new one (adapter). This is really a big mess. My feeling is that a big mistake has been made during the design of this new ebike generation regarding to the previous one. RM has to admit it. Regards. Sid
@Propelbikes
@Propelbikes 5 жыл бұрын
I think this is something your dealer should sort out. The new cover is really nice, but it is challenging to work with replacing it on the battery. You shouldn’t have to worry about this, the dealer should take care of it.
