That whole “Slave to the grind” album took the band to the next level of metal! I loved all the Side A tracks! For Side B, “ A Darkened room” and “ Wasted time” were good. Side B was mellower. I loved how the cassette was stuffed with ridiculously long liner notes with complete lyrics and credits. The band was incredibly generous with the liner notes. And nice art! I used to just look at the artwork while listening to the album.

Thanks for giving a platform for these guys from the 80’s! There’s still so much animosity towards 80’s hard rock and heavy metal music and musicians, it’s BS! It’s pretty clear to see that the 1980’s were the last great era of music, period! I’d love to see Tom Kiefer on here!! Thank you Gibson TV!!

What's with people hating stuff cause it's great? It's like someone saying, I hate pizza, it's so good its lame. Or, wow, pretty girls really bother me, why are they so hot and stuff? Dilbags. The 80's were everything that was great placed right in front of you, none of this artistic restraint, shoe gaze, im such a nuanced player bullshit that is the bulk of what we get now. Bring back the ass kicking rock.
@stricknine86234 жыл бұрын
I'm aware of SOME negativity in regard to 80s music but for the most part, the 80s is revered for having the decade with the best "musicians" despite a lot of the gimmick looks. But I cant SEE music, I HEAR IT ! But yes, the 80s is mostly highly regarded for the musicianship and particularly great guitarists. Because it's true.
@larslevinberget95584 жыл бұрын
The 80s were the pinnacle of rock and lasted well out in the 90s which were rigged by the KKK for the music business to move to Nashville TN. Rap for black people, crossover-country for whites :(

Strick nine I guess it depends on the people around you. When I’m around some cats that were semi famous in the 70’s they hated all the glam and later the hair metal glam. And when I am around some cats that were semi famous in late 80’s/early 90’s scene that were apart of the Blues traveler/ Spin doctors’ scene they get all uppity about how much the 80’s sucked. They’ll check out an idea and say “I like that, where’d that idea come from?”, and I’ll say it was an idea inspired by Jani Lane. They stare at me clueless for a sec until I say Warrant, and then the hum and ha’s begin, eyes rolling and garbage this and garbage that and bla bla bla. It’s strange. You should listen to Eddie Trunk, he is always talking about how the 80’s bands get trashed on. It’s pretty frustrating.
@stricknine86234 жыл бұрын
@@jerryvahnknight218 Understood. That is just not my own experience at all among musicians of which I am in constant contact with over the past 36 years. Casual listeners will pile on. But Im certain that this stems from a herd mentality and people feeling like its the trendy thing to do. Trash 80s music, talk about their hair and say that Nirvana and Soundgarden saved rock music and its always described as "cheesy" There are exceptions to anything but musicians see it much different. I've been playing for 36 years and I sure do.
