Liberals do not like leftists. After all this Warren BS, I have no second choice. Yes I am in a swing state. Cry about Trump, but it is on D leaders to do their job as “Resistance”. Justice Ds care, at best. No one else excites voters and nonvoters like Sanders. Full stop. Love the show ✊✌️

When they mentioned the implausibility of Pete Buttigieg beating Trump I thought they were being unfair but then again... and at that moment a strange sort of giddiness overcame me... scales dropping from my eyes about the absurdity of what we hilariously call conventional wisdom, as in for example pundits citing the conventional wisdom that ANY of the candidates (what was it 24 hats in the race at one time?) would beat Donald Trump. Marianne Williamson dropped out a week ago and my first reaction was "She was still in it?" ...and she has expressed disappointment as if it is someone else's fault that she came across as delusional and narcissistic. Which gets me back to my original point which was that maybe, just maybe there were some candidates on that stage who might conceivably have almost zero percent chance of beating Donald Trump. And not just because they project an image which is not quite the image they have of themselves. Perhaps some of them have gone along with another bit of conventional wisdom that to beat Trump they have to show themselves as willing to duke it out with the same techniques as Donald Trump, that that is what is lacking in Dem politics. To that end some may have adopted a strategy of lying and smearing and bullying... not pointing any fingers, that wouldn't be polite, but there is a strain of conventional wisdom which says that Dems have to go that rough and tumble route. Is that what America needs? Worse still, can there be anything more delusional than thinking that they can lie more or lie bigger or smear more or bully more than Donald Trump, especially as he has not only himself but an enormous political apparatus at his disposal that also has expertise in that kind of ratfuckery. I think that most of the candidates left have vulnerabilities and baggage and political tone deafness and leadership inadequacies which would cause them to lose to Donald Trump. From a policy standpoint Bernie Sanders has far and away the best platform in my estimation - every other platform comes across to me as weak and compromised and alas I suspect it may bias me in his favor in other aspects of his campaign. That being said, I think he has the best campaign structure, generates the most enthusiasm, and shows the most willingness to tap into that enthusiasm when he gets elected. And those are the qualities America needs to beat Donald Trump and to get things accomplished which need to be accomplished.

I don't get Michael's take on voting for Hillary in 2016. Tensions were high in Syria (and Russia, for being an ally to Syria) and Hillary was one of the maniacs who really wanted to go to war with Assad. World War 3 would've come 4 years earlier, and Bill was the one who quadrupled the funding for the border wall in '95, which includes the militarization of the border. Bad take Mike 🤔

Soo, Ben, what is "x shaming," it's when you discomfort someone because they disagree with you. Shouldn't our decision be based on logic, and lot cultural pressure? So shaming being active application of cultural pressure might be wrong in all cases (now you may argue in some cases the end justifies the means.)

I'm a fan of the show and I consider myself a leftist, but I genuinely don't enjoy Trump. That's not a moralistic thing, I kind of wish I did. It's disconcerting and destabilizing to have people I am usually on the same wavelength with like Michael say how entertaining/funny he is.
