You get the same exact outcome if you choose to side with the settlers. Because he’s still alive and you didn’t side with the raiders you can go to him afterwards and he’ll give you gifts like water, stimpacks, mentats, etc.

I played this raid over 6 times with my group and every time we got the bug that makes Gail sit in the tube forever and we all just gave up on trying to save jonny

Yea, that is what happened to me after Johnny got lasered. I left the game rejoined and started the mission again. This time Johnny lived and there was no glitch. I had no idea there was the option to not kill him though. But what was weird was when i talked to Meg afterwards, she only acknowledged the first playthrough when Johnny died by laser before the bug struck rather than the one where i completed the mission and killed him.

Yes. If you pick the right options and have enough special points, you can convince him to not get into a fight and stick with his original cut.

@@GodsRemote Yes, and if you a power armour user, you can get a unique armour paint style called " Prototype steel mill paint". The helmet on the armour already is in that style. So be nice to Ra-Ra during this quest and she may help you get it. You'll know the quest when you get, "Fun and Games"

⁠@@Salty_Salafter he blows up the vault door. all you have to do is Run In there before all of them don’t talk to Meg . & kill all the robots once you’ve successfully eliminated everyone in there . They will be standing by the intercom . That’s when you open your map & fast travel back to the cave & the intercom will be available.

@@Salty_Salyou have shoot the Tourette’s out before everyone goes in so don’t talk to Meg until you do that then talk to Meg about everything.. then it probably will be a glitch at the intercom but all you have to do is go all the way back to the elevator we’re you came from go up then put the code in to come back down again.. and everything should be ok after that

on my first run i got through it with out killing him, but i use the 8+ charisma to say i have better jobs. Also i kept all the gold and that provides additional dialog from Johnny. I didnt even know Johnny could die at the beginning

I was thinking a cool idea for a solo play through (other than muling over the script) would be where you start a character at the purveyor (via fast travel from vault) and get a ranged 3* legendary, and thats what you us to level 10, then get another at lvl 20 and thats what you have to use to 30 etc... so you might start with a pipe pistol but then get a heavy weapon. Not sure if it would be considered a challenge or to showcase what perks to grab if you want to level with a variety of possible found weapons

I haven't sided with the raiders yet. Someones probably pointed out this at some point somewhere but he mentions a heist in New York. Its interesting because even though he could be talking about pre war but if it was post war, all theories I've seen about post war New York is that its been nuked off the map. Could be hinting at future content. That'd be awesome

Also, if you fail the "Ol Weston shuffle" quest, Johnny won't trust you and just die regardless. I messed up the last round of the arena and couldn't kill the Grafton monster in time, wished it didn't lock me out like that, this part really annoyed me that Johnny's death was hard locked thanks to that.

There’s a glitch on the mission guys where once u get the gold go back to you’re base store all gold come back when going up elevator close out game reload it’s gonna make it so you’re check point reloaded but the gold is still in u storage u can get as much gold as u want

This happened to me a few days ago. I ended up fast traveling back out the Vault and then entered back in, and they were already inside. You may have to do that several times just to get it to work.

Oh, if you screwed up his previous arena mission you cannot save him regardless of your dialog choices. I found that out the hard way when the game refused to let me heal during the fight and i went down. :(

My first time I let him die and it ended up bugged. I had to start over. I tried it again and it bugged in the same place (I couldn't get any dialogue to come up for Gail after he was killed by the turrets) so the third time I talked him down so he wouldn't be killed and I was able to finish.

He tried to stab a guy clad in full spike/scrap covered t45 power armor with a minigun in the back.... With nothing but a revolver. Takes either really big balls, or a lot of stupidity. I'm thinking it was the latter.

I started a new character and in doing so, get to do the mission again. The first time I did it, I went with the raiders, but...Johnny got killed, but I did get Slug Buster so wasn't all bad.... Now after watching this, I know what to do to keep him alive, but I was thinking of going with the settlers this time....maybe Can you do a video or something about going in with Foundation? That way I will know if its worth it to side with them instead of the raiders.

You can chose to take all 1000 bullion with foundation, you'll loose some rep tho but it's probably worth it.

You can also choose to keep all gold with raiders with no blow back, meg don’t want to have you as an enemy, she is more disappointed that you didn’t keep your end of the deal. Page on the other hand is really pissed if you lie to him and keep all the gold for yourself, but again not much happens badly for you. Both instances of you keeping all the gold don’t affect you really and if you’re max reputation it doesn’t go down at all
