American guns have always been expensive in my country, but when I first laid my eyes on the ronin, I knew that I needed to get it no matter what. Haven't regretted it since.

I have a Springfield Range Officer in .45 that I have competed with and it has several thousand rounds through it with zero failures. I recently purchased the Ronin in 9mm and it already has over 1K rounds through it with zero failures as well. I really like them both. I did upgrade the trigger in the RO so it has a 3.5# trigger that is smooth as butter and it was given a skeletonized hammer to match. Also just got an Echelon and I'll be putting some rounds through that as soon as it hits my hands.

Just got the Ronin operator in.45. Was like a school boy getting, sad to say at my age, this is my 1st 1911. Taking it out tomorrow for its 1st range trip.

I have a Ronin in full size .45. I had the slide Cerakoted to be more corrosion resistant for outdoor use. The grip bushing screws are thin to fit the thin grip panels, but any after market grips will not fit so I had to remove the bushings and install regular size grip bushings so I could use Pachmayr Pro Diamond rubber grips for a textured, comfy grip. I also got a wicked trigger job while remaining the standard main spring of 23 pounds for reliability. It's now a dependable, accurate travel gun, truck gun, outdoor camping and hiking companion.

My daily carry is a Ronin 9mm, Commander-length. One failure-to-feed with the first magazineful when brand new, hollow points, two-plus years and countless rounds ago. Zero issues since. I keep the factory mag+1, IWB, and a Wilson Combat 10-rounder as backup. Lots of great guns out there, and I'm not downing anyone's choice, but the Ronin fits what I've wanted for decades. I may sell some stuff for the .45 and 10mm.

A Ronin in 9mm with a commander slide is a very nice pistol.

Is the plastic trigger hard to replace

Freaking plastic trigger is a deal breaker, other than that I love this 1911.

A great beautiful pistol. Can the front sight be swapped for a metal sight?

Not sure you'd want to change once you see the sight picture. I have 67-year-old eyeballs, and for me the sights are amazingly good.

I think Springers are a great platform to build a 1911 on. I've built many of them, they all seem to have a common set of problems, such as safety feel like sponge in off position, chamber needs a finish reamer ran thru it, put a Wilson extractor in it. But the Ronin 45 Commander I built last year has a new problem. The Cerakote finish on the alloy frame, is way, way too thin Springfield. It's worn just about off and haven't even carried the gun much.

Interesting, no mention of the 10mm. SA must be ending the 10mm Ronin. I haven't seen one for sale for awhile. I like my 10mm Ronin, it's very accurate and you can shoot 40sw in it.

This looks like an old video before they came out with the 10mm that they re released because only the early production said Ronin Operator on the slide.

10mm & 40S&W head space on the case mouth. 10mm is .142 inch. longer than 40. That means the 40 won't be able to head-space in the chamber and will be held in place by the extractor. An extractor is meant to "extract", not hold a bullet in the chamber. Do some research.
