@@ChrisSheridan295 I have to say that I could practice with ear plugs but playing live I found it really hard with ear plugs. In reality when you play live most of the sound is going away from you, it's practicing that fucks you up. Sadly I started using earplugs too late and have a nice permanent whistling noise to show for 40 years of loud guitar playing.... it all catches up on you at some point

IDK, call me crazy, but I like the idea of putting shape at 10 o'clock on this thing, with the gain as high as possible while still remaining clean, throwing something like a tube screamer in front of it with the tone at 3 o'clock, the gain at 9 o'clock and the volume dimed, and then putting my usual multi-FX unit in the loop for amp sims and other FX, followed by my active microDI pedal. Perfection.

I have just started using 2 of those as my amps exclusively. I finally shelved my VHT Pittbull and Mesa Mk 2. It does what I need, and I don't need 24/7 security guarding my 2 heads all of the time. Great pedal platform. Perfect amount of power. Perfect price.

Valve amps get that benefit of getting reaalllll loud and being able to be tiny. They aren't exactly like tube amps, but they abide by a similar principle in how it handles volume, so 20 watts is loud for most venues if you want to gig with it. This is great because I'd like to just lug around a board and a 60 watt orange cab instead of the alternative of getting a high wattage solid state amp and a cab to go with it. They also tend to be a bit less volume demanding, so you can still get great tone without pissing off your neighbors as you practice for the 5th hour of the night. They shockingly do the classic Orange clean tone sound. I know you focus on metal, but the shape tool helps dial in a classic Orange sound for cleans shockingly well from other videos I've watched, and its impressive that with very minimal knobs and a few pedal footswitches, you can get a large array of sounds. I thought I'd be disappointed watching videos of a $200 amp, but Orange delivers perfectly, and it's the reason why I like primarily using their hardware

I just got my hands on the Orange Jim Root Mini Terror signature amp and oh boy, even with my garbage 4×12 cab (a cab that managed to make my Peavey 6505+ sound like a Crate or a Line 6 Spyder II) that tiny little amp makes some gross in a good way tones!

I love this thing. Havent got one yet but i will. Couple that will the boss od-200 or just a tubescreamer and i think you'll have yourself a filthy little amp. And you obviously can gig with it since it hit 109db on its own , and you'll be mic'ing into FOH anyway. What a great little amp. One thing NOT mentioned is that (IIRC) it uses a 12ax7 too.

One of my rigs (always playing around different rig setups) is a Micro Terror & Micro Dark run in stereo with a old Boss ME50 stereo processor and it sounds really awesome either into a Marshall 1960 4x12 (stereo) or two Crate mini cabinets.
