I swear when I saw Dirty Honey last year in OKC, John Notto had a little guitar solo with just him shredding on the stage, and that experience was completely overwhelming. I swear it was like watching Slash play EVH licks. Looking back on the experience, it felt like I was the only one in the room with the guy just because of how affixed I was on him. Not even lying, I’ll tear up if I talk about it enough😂😂

John sounds very grounded. I really hope he stays that way. I bought a 2022 Les Paul standard a few weeks back and having him talk so highly of these new standards makes me feel better about not going with the Custom shop for $7K i originally wanted. The standard was only $2700 which is a lot less expensive.
@sferguson1130Ай бұрын
People’s ideas of what’s considered a great guitar vs not so great, is so skewed these days, with influencers and guitar showcasing, with all things custom shop and vintage. A new Les Paul standard, is a great f’in guitar 👌👌 Within any line of mass produced guitars, some will inevitably be better than others, as far as QC and cuts of wood, etc. That said, you still have a killer guitar 🔥

I just saw Dirty Honey in Orlando a few weeks ago and they were fantastic. I got a chance to speak with John very briefly backstage and he seems like a really good dude. This was the exact set up he was using and he played the tobacco burst that night. He never changed guitars. They are really a phenomenal band live as well as recorded. On a sidenote, his speaking voice reminds me so much of the timbre and cadence of Michael Sweet from Stryper.

9's and especially 8 gauge strings won't break and are much easier on your hand. People should know that the thiner the string the less tension so you can do anything you want to them. The only catch is you can't press as hard on the fretboard or they will bend slightly out of tune with high frets

I don’t know how he has dialed in his gear, but that sounds terrible. Such nice components and then such a bad fizzy and bad sound. Than the best LP in the universe is useless… And the Jubilee?? What the hell did he do with it? One the worst sounds I’ve ever heard. Please, call Joe B. And let him show this guy how dial in the Jubilee.
@Sean0780 Жыл бұрын
I think the Jube is only used as a solo feature, not as any kind of base sound? It sounds like it’s focused at a precise frequency, to compliment the 1987 and provide boost and cut for soloing/leads. By itself the Jube is lacking body and sweetness and very piercing with the harsh frequency it’s set to, but I guess that is where the 1987 is sitting?
@heavyrelic8506 Жыл бұрын
@@Sean0780 hm, honestly I don’t think so. When you hear Joe Bonamassas Rig Rundown, the SJ always sounds round and full by itself. never harsh or piercing. I guess it has a lot to do with the way it’s dialed in. I have the SJ myself and there’s a huge difference in sound depending how you dial it in.
