Hozier accidentally hitting a guitar and then sincerely apologizing to that seemingly inanimate object makes me wonder if this is just a quirk or does this man know something we don’t

Many guitarists talk to their guitars. They keep us company, they have a life of their own, fair enough we apologize to them if we hurt them 😂

God... that hit me hard xD I loved (I still do of course) them, I began learning how to play guitar with 17 and Auerbach had a tone I adored. Keep it Hid it is also a masterpiece to me. I am really glad they are still releasing stuff, I love Dan and Patrick.

I mean, The Black Keys put their first album out during the early 2000s and the album he mentioned (Rubber Factory) came out in 2004 so he was probably a teenager when they really got big so that makes sense for him to say it
@Shakes-Off-Fear3 жыл бұрын
The way he talks about his instruments is beautiful. It's almost as if he's not using them to make music but he's just giving them a means to channel the songs the instruments themselves want to play.

Got lucky and saw him in 2015 with my girlfriend at the time. Most memorable concert experience I’ve ever had. Crazy talented songwriter, and underrated guitar player to say the least. His band was super tight, too. Opened with Angel of Small Death and played a great solo on it. Played the whole show with his hair up in a bun. Came back on stage for an encore of Cherry Wine, acoustic in hand, hair down to his shoulders. Absolutely floored me. Glad he’s stuck around. Was really worried he’d hit a sophomore slump, with his first album being so ridiculously good. But the new album is the same sort of stuff he’s been writing for years, in a good way. Also, always cool for an artist to come out and do the rundown instead of having the tech do the whole thing. Thanks for always giving us this quality content, Premier Guitar. This stuff gets me through the weeks. P.S. Chris was the perfect interviewer to send for Hozier. Laid back and quiet, but still knows the questions to ask and how to get the artist talking.

Hi Nicholas🤹♀️. I don't normally review too many posts on KZbin, however, I stumbled across your comments submitted on the video of Hozier and Chris chatting about the various types of guitars (pertaining quality, preference of equipment, and their relation to the artistic craft of music). Hozier has an effective way of reeling in his audiences; whether in an interview, podcast, talk show circuit, concert, whatever. Most of his fans are beginning to surmise that he embodies multiple qualities, talents, and gifts. He is not cocky or arrogant. He doesn't wreak of entiltlement; nor does he flex his escalating popularity. I look forward to his eventual Grammy Achievement . Your post was very articulate and well structured. Being an English major, and Linguist Specialist, it's refreshing to observe proper context of writing in a post, tweet, or commentary (of any kind). I was compelled to share this note with you; while commending you for taking the time, in our fast-paced world, to genuinely share a Written thought from the heart, that wasn't ladened with relentless acronyms, self-made abbreviations, or exaggerated emojis. Thanks for keeping with grammatical sense and learned syntax. I wish you extended favor and blessings in life. Enjoy your day. Take care.

I know what he means tho. He's extremely skilled for guitar playing and has the creativity to get almost any sound he wants from guitar for his songs. His playing is accurate, clean, sparkly and moving. Considering he's self-taught, it's remarkable. But people who have devoted themselves to guitar to a certain extent normally know how vast and complex guitar can be across so many genres (rock, blues, jazz, funk, classical, flamenco, etc.). To be highly proficient with both hands, not just re physical skills but when it comes to harmony, even in one style such as jazz, that can take a whole lifetime. One can't help but be humble in the face of some guitar legends who were still learning when they were old. But yeah, to the mere mortals, he's indeed a great guitar player :)

How come I didn't find this sooner?! I saw Hozier live two months ago, and I'm pretty sure it changed my life. I've since decided to build a guitar and then learn to play it. It's really cool to see what Andrew uses and likes. I'm super stoked to learn to play, and not gonna lie, 90% of the music I want to learn are Hozier songs.

One of the best artists of our age - so underrated as a guitarist! He such a colorful dude! His poetry is 4 dimensional and his guitar playing is a tip of the hat to folk/ blues/ and jazz... Such an interesting guy! Would love to share a shot and some stories with him! Can't believe that he was a huge fan of Dan Auerbach too! I leaped to joy when he gave a shout out to him! I will have to try to get my hands on a H78 Harmony too!

I can provide some clear info on the Danelectro res-o-dan guitar... It started off as Danelectro U2 mode which was re-issued in 1997-98 & actually sold in UK music shops for a measly £100... Bargain!! The Black "Reso-Dan Danelectro guitar was a conversion by Holiday Music's Julian Mullen. Holiday Music advertised the conversion mods in Guitarist Magazine in 1998 and even featured on the front cover of the magazine with an accompanying CD which i still have to this day demoing the guitar on the cover. I wanted one in my later 20s but couldn't find one or afford the price tag for a conversion guitar so i set about the conversion myself taking notes from the Guitarist magazine article & investigating how resonators worked & how the cones fitted in the guitar. Soon after that i started buying more U2 models & converted a few more. Hoziers is an earlier conversion by Junian Mullen. So if Hozier is reading this i hope this info answers your question on that very guitar. Nice to see a Res-o-Dan again!!
