That's fascinating. Who would've thought even the cables matter. You didn't mention the part of the kit I want the most, though -- whatever box it is that gives you that Irish accent. It's pretty authentic-sounding.

That’s great man how are you using the Colourizer ? Guitar - Colourizer - other pedals - DI? No amp? Do you not put the colourizer straight in the Pa? I just got a pocket tools and trying to get my head round it 😂Love your playing man look forward to see you live soon

Hey there! So in this video (Nov 2018) it was: Guitar -> Tuner -> Colourizer (line out) -> Pedals -> ACUS amp. I put the Colourizer in after the tuner and before the pedals, because I wanted it to work only on the clean sound of the pickup without any effects. Occasionally I'd also take the DI out of the Colourizer to get a very clean pickup sound (dry sound) to balance the signal with the effects (wet sound). I've since replaced the Colourizer in this setup with an Udo Rösner Da Capo 75 Amp at the end of my chain. I also took out the ACUS amp for touring, but enjoy using them both in stereo at home. I'm also experimenting with using my effects wired into the effects loop of the Udo amp, not immediately practical for touring but definitely getting better sound results. Up to last March, I was bringing both the Colourizer and the Dual Mix Pocket Tools units with me as a backup, in case there was an issue with the amp. I'll likely do this again once touring starts up in August. In your situation, I'd recommend working with the gain level on the Colourizer against your pickup volume first to get a good signal - that's 90% of 'the big sound', to my ears anyway. I use the bottom row on the Colourizer to take out frequencies rather than boost them. The tone knobs (middle row) can be used to increase bass and treble frequencies - I think of that very generally as "more fingerstyle vs more strumming" sounds. I never liked the sound of the enhancer feature with my guitars but it can sound good on some pickups especially if they need a specific type of brightness/presence. Hope that helps!

@@ShaneHennessyMusic Dude this is amazing thank you for taking the time to reply! yeah I was using it wrong I was going the the bypass instead of the line out lol! so now I'm going line out into amp and it sounds great. Definitely did what you suggested and its really nice thank you. there is a DI on my amp (AER) so I'm using that to go in the PA. Will try at the next gig. Love your stuff dude look forward to when we can see you play again. take care all the best and thank you again for your time.

@@dooglehill3794 Happy to help mate. If you're using the reverb from your AER amp, depending on the model you have it may or may not come through the DI output along with the guitar signal. Check that out, because you might think there is reverb on your signal, when you're actually only hearing it from the amp - it may not be coming through the PA at all. That happened to me in Germany in 2019!

@@ShaneHennessyMusic wow ok I better check that out then! Maybe have to get a reverb pedal if that happens it’s a AER compact 60 amp. I will try the wet dry thing too like you suggested, so you have 2 DI out all the time one amp one DI box or pocket tools?
