Look up MIke Tyson's first tweet after the Jake Paul fight. It begins: "This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won." To be in the ring just five months afterwards was a travesty. It's not so much he was an "old man" - he was a man who needed much more time to recover. I saw somewhere that he commented after filming his training videos, which were very impressive, he would be bedridden for days. It was sad to watch, but I think he did it more for his family and didn't worry about his legacy. No one will ever forget Iron Mike. I doubt anyone will remember Jake Paul a few decades from now.

It was not a fight...it was an exhibition. So it was rigged from the outset...to be entertainment.

As if exhibition really makes a difference. Boxing has been rigged for centuries. Tyson has said boxers he fought like bruce Sheldon who were more actors than fighters. Let's also not forget he did the same thing with Roy Jones. Who wouldn't take 20 mil for a scripted performance. Sign me up.

Watch Mike Tyson Undisputed truth ( His one man show ) There are short clips of it on here but it just shows what an incredible man he is. .. I'm thinking he just did this for the money for his kids. He doesn't give a shit about legacy anymore.

Only a keyboard warrior hiding behind his dads monitor, safely tucked away under a pink blanket, would call Iron Mike a bum. Legends live forever!

According to Mike, he has issues with an ulcer that burst on a plane. He nearly died and needed a large transfusion. I believe this was a big factor in him suddenly not being ready. It’s not that the skill wasn’t there. It was just the speed wasn’t there. I do not believe this was a fixed fight. I believe Mike was just not able to perform at the level that he previously was able to. Jake knew fairly quickly that he had control of the fight, and that he was going to win. That is why he carried the fight out to the end.

6:07 I do find watching his legs to be interesting, it''s like they wibble wobble, like he doesn't have the strength to balance properly. Does make me wonder if that's why he pulled out from that particular punch.

Their was plenty of videos of him using a cane and being pushed in a wheelchair like 1-2 years ago. So he has had leg issues for a while.

I'm amazed by the number of people who thought they were going to see 1987 Mike Tyson in this fight. He's 58 years old. He finished his boxing career over 20 years ago by losing 3 of his last 4 fights against people close to his age. What's to rig in this fight? There's no title on the line and neither guy in in line for a real contender next. It was a glorified exhibition as proven by the 2 minute rounds.
@simonaaronson1968
@simonaaronson1968 Ай бұрын
The two minute rounds were also changed to two minutes because of his health issues. And him and Jake are friends. Truthfully, we could've seen Jake knock him out after the three straight left hooks in the second round because this is a 58 year old with health complications fighting against a boxer in their prime years. I think Tyson would've loved to get the win, but I don't think either of them were going to go for the knockout.

Several times in the first round Mike easily ducked a punch and then loaded to throw the right hand, even started to torque his core and then backed off and never threw the punch.

It was an exhibition fight with a predetermined outcome. Tyson could have knocked him out multiple times but never threw the punches. They helped each other make money, and now Jake Paul has to prove himself for real.

IDK about rigged, but Jake Paul's fights are spectacles designed to make money. I don't see him ever taking on the world champion or anything like that in a real fight. Also, I think it goes without saying that prime Mike Tyson would've slaughtered him. It would've been a round 1 KO within a minute

I paid to watch them just dance around, I've seen an 80 year old boxer fight and knock down young guys. The whole fight was fixed, I fell asleep.

Not only did Jake Paul get millions for fighting Mike Tyson he walked away with both of his ears intact!😂 The last time I watched Mike Tyson box was in 1997 when he bit Evander Holyfield's ear twice during their fight in Las Vegas in 1997! That was enough boxing for me!

My guess is the contract was to keep both of them from any real harm.being Mike's health and the possibility of hurting Jake Paul. So they can put on a show,get paid and stay chill.that slap I think was to give Jake a little taste of what he really is I think it was genius consensual or not.

I didnt know he had a stroke. I know he had a bad stomach ulcer that he almost died from they say. I never heard of that though. I honestly don't think it was rigged. Dude is 58. His movements looked similar, and you can tell his boxing instincts were all there, but it starts in the legs. It didn't seem like he could get his body to do what he truly wanted it to do. He eat all jakes punches though. He gets respect from me for making it through

Correct - Mike's medical emergency in June was a "flare-up" or ruptured ulcer. That's what put him in the hospital and almost killed him. He also has old injuries that affected his neck and back, which in turn affected his ability to move, along with arthritis in his knee(s). To get into the ring five months after his hospitalization was madness - not on his part, but the promoter's part, in my opinion. Mike will always be remembered as one of the greatest boxers of all time. I doubt Jake Paul will.

The point of a guard hand, is gone when Jake Paul hits down. His whole face wide is open every time. Someone fighting for +40 years punishes that. If they want to. But sometimes Mike just pushed him, and Paul fell back.

Wait a sec, guys. I gotta stop watching and just say that this is the very first time I heard anything about a stroke. What? Obviously, it was a mini stroke, (if that's proper to say), bc many people know a stroke can be very severe, even if you survive. Wow, I did not know Iron Mike had a stroke - and still got in the ring. I'm stunned. I love Mike. We come from the same part of the world and he trained, sparred and fought his way up around the Capital District of NY. I didn't hear of him until he hit the TV screens around age 19. The pay per views were horrendous bc they got to be pricey for the time period and you chip in together with some friends, and the fight lasted 92 seconds!! He made some really bad choices along the way, but it's not for me to judge any person. As long as they paid the price for their actions, they should be able to carry on with their lives. Mike is no different. Mike, I know you watch TNT faithfully so I just wanna say what's up and your advise changed my life. When you said, "everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth", I took it to heart. And I started punching everyone in the mouth when they came to me with a plan. I couldn't keep a job. A few pressed charges. It's been a rough go for me. I gotta ask you, Mike, were you just talking about having that mentality in the ring only, or just life in general? I'm starting to think you were talking about boxing.🤔

Look it up. He said he lost lots of blood and almost died, I remember when it happened 6 months ago. They cancelled the fight but then brought it back on 2 months later.

@@tntreactions I don't think he had a stroke. I believe it was a "flare up" or ruptured ulcer that put him in the hospital in June of this year. He did lose a lot of blood and weight. This fight should either never have happened or been postponed again; Mike was in no shape to fight just 5 months after such a severe medical setback.

"Very uncharacteristic"...yeah of a 58 year old guys comparing him to his prime. Bro he could have gotten tired and in the second round he has the muscle memory of throwing that shot, the feet can't cover the distance like that anymore

If you're going to try and play the 'Old man Tyson was holding back' card, then don't just compare a video of his old self and his current self, without looking at his legs. He can barely walk on his own ...

I can't stand Jake Paul, but Tyson is 58 years old, 35 years past his prime. Is it too much for people to understand that the man can not move his body around anymore using his own legs???

I'm sorry but I can't help thinking that allowing a 58 year old man to enter a boxing ring is an absolute disgrace. i had no interest in watching the 'fight' and did not know the result until I tuned in here, although I can't say I''m surprised. This most certainly would not have happened back in the 80s - standards slip, money talks.

Jake Paul wouldn`t have lasted the first round. And Tyson has a lot of explaining to do. You put out training videos like this and go into the ring fighting like that. Has to be rigged. No question about it.

Not really a boxing fan, ny “feelings” about Mike are somewhat neutral, won’t watch this fight, that are just because Mike lost, really dislike Paul, where hoping he didn’t win this one that be the main reason I’ve won’t watch the fight, can’t say I’ve lost any respect for Mike, if he lost this purpose, because he wanted his family to be taken care of can get behind that and respect it, what did he have to lose
