Thanks so much for teaching me how to rig, ive looked at like 4 vids and none of them worked but this did the contrary. thank you!

Small tip: you can stop your control bones from affecting the mesh by going into bone settings @ top right with the bone selected, and them unticking 'deform' at the bottom before applying auto-weights.

You can avoid the problems with the IK bones deforming the mesh before parenting the rig to the mesh by simply going into edit mode for the armature and selecting each bone you don't want to deform the mesh and removing the check mark from the option "deform" that you'll find in the bone tab in the properties panel.

When I tried to connect the rex to the bones, it didn't work. It gave me an error that said "Loop in parents" and it didn't connect. I'm using Blender 2.79 and everything else worked pretty much the same as the video up until this point. Can someone help?

its a 4year old blender version. you may have blender 2.8 or 2.9 the colour scheme is a bit different in from blender 2.8 or 2.9

Thanks very easy to follow could you do a quickie on the walk cycle of the Rex. Also can I use the same principle to rig something like a lizard or alligator?

+Blender 3D Renders I'll see what I can do! And yes, you'd just have to squish some parts and move them around, but it should work pretty well

Im brand new to this Blender thing but saw this and needed to try. I have a question though, can the tongue be animated too? I want the roar to be realistic.
@kajiuman10755 жыл бұрын
anything can be animated if you add the bones for whatever it might be and give it the right weight paint

WHAT, HOW DO YOU MAKE THE CLAWS AND TEATH MOVE WITH IT
@thedude47958 жыл бұрын
youre gonna have to learn some weight paint
@angelhdzdev7 жыл бұрын
how weight paint has anything to do with animating the teeth and claws? He just needs to joine the teeth to the mouth mesh, and the claws to the hands/feet mesh...
@pattymaboy54257 жыл бұрын
adding weight to the teeth and claws on the appropriate bone will move it just the same, but without having to join the meshes. Two ways to do the same thing :D
@CinaBloom7 жыл бұрын
I joined the eye to the model, and yet it pops out of the model when i posed it.
@brianalldridge6 жыл бұрын
Select your claw, then the bone for the appropriate toe, CTRL+ P > Parent Bone Relative. From there the claw will follow the bone. With the teeth, you'll have to go into edit mode, select all, separate by loose parts, then join all the top teeth as one object and the bottom as another. Use the same process as with the claw to attach them to the bone for the jaw.

What is the difference between a blender model and a model made for video games? Just lots more detail?
@circle28677 жыл бұрын
You can make models for video games in blender. you'll want to try and keep them relatively low poly, though. you wouldn't really wanna use this high poly T-Rex for a game.
@begobogo25837 жыл бұрын
Circle 25 Would a game like Ark survival evolved have high poly models like this?
@circle28677 жыл бұрын
i highly doubt any game would have models this high. even if they did they would run like crap. what you'd normally do is sculpt or create a high poly model, retopologise it then bake the high poly model to a low poly model. quite a long drawn out process but it works.
